I'd love if one of the small side-threads this season is Starfleet building its first new ship post-Burn,
and Saru returning to Starfleet full-time at the end of the season (following an intense story arc etc.)
to take command of that ship...the USS Enterprise.

I see Earth not returning to the Federation... in the fourth season. If Earth views itself as a paradise, they want to maintain it. The Federation is decimated (literally, as it's a tenth of the size it was) and in shambles. The Federation was dragging them down. So Earth had to make the tough choice of leaving something they were key to creating in the first place. They couldn't have decided to do it easily, so convincing them to return should be difficult.

Trill was easy. Ni'Var should be a harder. Earth is a rest-of-the-series goal. That's how I see it happening.

This is my view. Detmer stood out to me pretty much from "Context is for Kings." She was clearly suffering and angry and traumatized, and Burnham did nothing to help that.

They spend the entire season looking for some legendary being, and it turns out to be Riker so he's been in every Trek series except TOS.

Until DeepFake tech is finalized and then the Special Edition of TOS will be released.

I'm honestly surprised someone hasn't used deepfakes to "fix" Star Trek Continues.

Because as a fix it would feel really unsettling.

I read that as "naked Detmer/Owo".

Then they don't need to make that canon.

I suspect that they did not want the red stripe to telegraph that Tilly would automatically retain the First Officer position under her new captain.

Burnham was blamed for starting the war, but was just the trigger, the excuse the Klingons used start an already planned offensive. I initially assumed that was Lorca's reason for rehabilitating Burnham, then it turns out he is EVIL.

If Book is gonna be part of the crew I demand he follows Trek tradition for non uniform crew and is dressed in a skin tight one piece that goes right up his ass crack. Accompanied of course by being cut tight or low or both around the chest.

Olatunde Osunsanmi posted a pic from the season finale shot list. The last sentence probably says "ships, pulling back till we see"

till we see what Olatunde? Tell me now, I can't wait 1 year after season 4 to find out! :p

One admittedly unimportant thing id like them to clear up is the fate of other parts of the Galaxy-both in the post Burn period, but also in a related manner, their status in the years running up to the Burn. Admittedly, there is the possibility that some of this can be fleshed out in Picard and even Lower Decks, but still.

What happened to Cardassia? We saw Cardassians in the background of season 3 so we know Cardassians still exist, but what is (or was) their status at the time of the Burn?

The Klingon Empire? Previous time travel episodes of various shows imply the Klingons join the Federation at one point? What is their culture like after 1000 years, and after the loss of widespread warp travel? Also, what do they look like? Is Discovery never going to show them again purely because they got their fingers burnt with them last time? In fairness, it looks like they tried to bring back more traditional looking ones from background characters at the end of Season 2, so maybe they will just bring back the more familiar ones and pretend the Season 1 Klingons never looked any different.

Andoria-apparently Andorians were a big part of the Emerald Chain. Was this just unofficial groups of Andorians? Mainly Andorians from an Andorian colony in whatever part of the quadrant season 2 actually took place in. Does Andoria itself still have a government, and if so did they have any involvement with the Emerald Chain.

What is going on with Bajor? Is the Wormhole still a strategically significant location? Whats the situation with the Dominion?

There is a character in the Season 4 trailer, that some people assume might be the Federation President, that has Cardassian ancestry based on her face, maybe we'll find out.
Cardassians were a member of the Federation before the Burn according to one BTS video.

I think pre burn Bajor would initially do well as the wormhole trade point but later become just another planet as the transwarp conduits open up as viable travel routes.

Cardassia by the end of the war was crippled and then the Dominion wiped millions more out. I've read a fair bit on Germany post both world wars and it's always what I picture. I see new Cardassia as modern Germany and being scared stiff into changing and never going back so I bet once rebuilt they go very quiet and peaceful for a couple 100 years and also ultra pro Federation.

Ide be pretty annoyed if the Klingons are still the exact same blood thirsty pirates with no progression. Its time maybe for Klingon atheism and democracy. Don't care if they stick with Disco Klingons but would prefer the S2 ones with the hair

Off-the-wall or not-so-of-the-wall theory: Since Section 31 is on indefinite hold (they're not making another new Star Trek show until one of the current ones ends) and I doubt it's ever actually going to be made, I think they're going to bring Michelle Yeoh back to Discovery... as one of Georgiou's descendants.

It'll be like the Back to the Future Trilogy where actors played different family members of the characters they usually played.
