The particularly nasty and vindictive way that the producers of Sliders wrote out Sabrina Lloyd's character by basically condemning her to a lifetime of sexual slavery.

And the team was eventually like “eh it is what is, let’s keep sliding”

The character Wade on Sliders was sent to a breeding camp run by the Kromaggs because the showrunner thought it would be funny because he didn't like the actress when she wouldn't return to the show in season 4. She would later return as a head in a jar that was still alive. Jason

Yea. Season 4 started with the reveal from Rembrandt that Wade had been separated from him and taken by the Kromags to a breeding camp... and then we move on with the season. Later in the season we have the Sliders rescue a human woman pregnant with a Kromagg hybrid from a breeding camp which only inflamed the fandom as to that's where the show 'wrote Wade off to"

Season 5 near the end they finally decided to do something with Wade, but the actress had no intention of returning cheap. So they didn't bring her back. They used a different voice and had her be a disembodied 'head in a jar' that was used as a human computer to help the Kromaggs creating portals to slide to other alternate Earths. She ended up nuking herself to end the misery.

Of course by Season 5 the show had only 1 remaining original cast member. Wade was gone after S3, Prof Arturo was killed off in S3. Jerry O'Connell only agreed to go to Sci-Fi if they added his real life brother to the cast, and both of them left after S4 so to keep the character of "Quinn" on the show they 'merged' both characters together who took a completely different form of a new actor.

I would assume Ralph returns and somehow his human form is altered and he can no longer actually do the 'disguise' thing anymore to explain why he no longer appears as the same actor.

I think this thread is touching upon the solution. Is Sabrina Lloyd available to play the character of Ralph Dibney? I think she is technically retired, but last I read she lives in Vancouver (where they film The Flash).

The irony is, despite the cast changes and such, seasons 4-5 of Sliders were a monumental improvement on season 3. The back half of season 3 was one of the most atrociously awful seasons of SFTV I've ever seen, rivaled only by another FOX show from the same era, the back half of MANTIS's one and only season. It was written by people whose only understanding of science fiction was ripping off old B-movie plots and whose only understanding of character development was pointless petty bickering. It was agonizingly bad. But seasons 4 & 5, after the move to the Sci-Fi Channel, had vastly improved writing with a real understanding of science fiction and characterization. It wasn't perfect (and O'Connell's brother was a weak actor, a triumph of nepotism over talent), but at its best, season 4 was nearly as good as season 1, and it was possibly the first time in Kari Wuhrer's career that she had the chance to play a multifaceted, nuanced character and prove that she could be a good actress as well as a sex kitten. As for season 5, it wasn't quite as strong, but despite the replacement of half the previous season's cast, I felt that season 5's ensemble had a chemistry as good as the original foursome and were consistently fun to watch. I don't think I've ever seen a show sink so low and then recover so well.

I believe John Rhys-Davies gives a story about when he finally decided he wanted to quit Sliders and it was him going to the writers room to discuss something and the writers having DVD's of movies on their desk like Species and saying "We can take some bits of this one and that one and turn it into an episode storyline"

As I said, seasons 4-5 were much, much better than the execrable season 3, and IMHO better overall than the highly uneven season 2. The cast changes were not an ideal thing, no, but the writing was a great improvement.

Later seasons do show a lack of budget though. Had the one city block stage and the Dominon Hotel in which ever episode it seems took place on. Also season 3 truly was one of the worst tv seasons of all time. I liked only two episodes. One were Quinn meets a female version of himself and a time travel episode to when he was a kid. This Sliders talk is like waking up and remembering all the stupid things you did when you got drunk the night before. Some things are best not remembered.

Wade did have a body double in season 5 but Sabrina Lloyd did do her voice uncredited. She did it as a favor to Cleavant Derricks.

I watched Sliders from the Pilot to early season 3 and largely wrote it off knowing of the cast changes and loss in quality. So it was a huge surprise when it moved to Sci Fi. I treated it like a reboot with part of the previous cast. Before that term was really used. It was a fresh start and I was mostly happy with season 4 and 5 with a couple exceptions. I own the whole series on DVD but still have not watched most of season 3. Easy to ignore.

Sabrina Lloyd and Tom Cavanagh have worked together. She had a reoccurring role as his love interest during a season of his first series ED.

I liked her in early Sliders and Sports Night, but don't think I've seen her in anything else.

I saw John Rhys Davies speak once about Sliders...

"How do I put it diplomatically? Lazy people, who are not smart, do not very good television make."

We are truly going into unknown territory here as I have no idea who that Hulk creature is at the end.

I completely forgot she was in Numb3rs. Checking IMDB, I see that's because she was only in 13 episodes.

So, Iris confirmed she was in the Mirrorverse for three months and it was only a week since Eva went away. I wonder if at some point we are going to see a time jump to bring things up to 2021.
