I missed the boat on the DS9 crowd-funding campaign but am aware of how over-the-top successful it was. When the Voyager doc was announced, I have to admit I was afraid we'd be in for some disappointment since I wasn't sure Voyager had the same level of fan devotion that DS9 does. Suffice it to say I am very pleasantly surprised to have been wrong. Over $500k in two days is very impressive! Super excited for this.

I hope it gets a limited theatrical screening like the DS9 doc got with Fathom Events (assuming that going to the theater is a thing again by the time this comes out).

Just donated for the digital copy and the Blu-Ray Combo Pack. I'm excited to see the popularity of this doc already, even though I've heard on numorous occasions that Voyager is widely popular on Netflix (and now probably Paramount +).

I'm expecting the VOY one to actually raise more money than the DS9 one. More people are aware of it, and I think there's a lot like you who missed out before and didn't want to again. :)

Just curious can we sticky this thread to the top of the forum? It will help gain interest and we can follow the news as it happens.

I think a sticky is appropriate for awhile.

Just donated too. The Bragging Rights and Replica Janeway Coffee Mug were must haves.

VOY is more popular than some TrekBBS denizens typically let on so I am not surprised they've met their initial goals. The show gets a more critical eye on this board than I've seen elsewhere online. It's TNG-Lite as they say. On TrekBBS that seems to be a negative. Over on Netflix and other streaming platforms it seems to be more of a positive. Anyone can jump into the show and I'd say the production and set visuals have held up very well for a 25 year old show.

When I'm looking for some Trek to just have on while I'm doing stuff around the house or working from home or whatever, I have to admit Voyager is the one that I put on about 90% of the time. I grew up on TNG but as a result I feel like I'm so familiar with those episodes, there's less of a desire to go back and rewatch them now. And I love DS9 but a lot of those episodes are kind of heavy to have on just for casual viewing. Voyager is the easiest "put it on and just let it play for awhile" Trek series for me.

I really do think one of the reasons why Voyager is so popular is because of Kate Mulgrew. She has such a presence on that series, but if you hear her talk at conventions or in interviews, she really does serve as a great role model. I think I would be entertained if she just recited a phonebook (Which would be hard because phonebooks no longer exist but I digress). Even when she does get a little political, she focuses on subjects that reach both sides of the aisle, which I always appreciate.

I am surprised they haven't had any prizes involving Mulgrew or Ryan. They are very active (now with Ryan being in Picard) and I know I would love to have a chat with either of them (probably more Ryan than Mulgrew, but it's really close).

Count me in for 50.00 as I have always wanted the mug. However, I will be disappointed if it's not slightly more shiny silver as they were in the show. Am I correct on this? That delta quad tours t shirt is the best
I've ever seen. Might get that instead..Ah hell, I'll get them both.

ETA: I'm a bit confused about the perks. Do any of the options for supporting them include viewing the documentary, or is that an entirely different thing?

Hi Everyone! Sorry I've been absent. Too much work pulling me in 100 directions. I'm back and Happy to report that the Voyager Doc went over $1 Million Dollars today. So all of the Perks are unlocked and you'll be finding out about the 10th perk in the days to come and what it actually is (I think you'll find it cool.)

There's no streaming option for the doc. We did it for the DS9 doc and it was a small window of time through another company and there were so many problems that this time around nobody wanted to do it. We doubled the timeframe for DS9 streaming but even then there were too many complaints.

We cannot offer a digital download because we have to find a distributor for the film and they will not touch the film if there's digital copies of the movie already out in people's hands.

Here's the issue if you are not here in the US, however: The DS9 Doc was purchased by a distributor who released it only in the US to date. The Blurays and DVDs are coded for the US only. The original Backer DVD/Bluray sets were region free/all regions. We have no control over if and when other regions will be released by the distributor - that is their decision. My suggestion is that if you want to see this doc once it's complete and you are not in the US: buy the backers edition from the Indiegogo site. If you didn't get the DS9 Doc - I happen to know that the William Shatner store has the backer editions up for sale. Those are the region free DVD/ all region Bluray discs.

We will be holding Premieres in LA, NY and London. These won't happen until late 2022 so hopefully all Covid issues will be abated by then.

The coffee cup is one of my contributions to the project (besides being a Producer) I've sourced the original prop and got it measured and such and we will be doing a replica of it (it may actually hold more liquid than the original due to the inside design but on the exterior it should look as close to identical as possible.

@Paul Camuso , thank you so much for the info. Yes, I'm outside the US, and now I know why I still haven't been able to see/ find the DS9 doc, even though that's my favorite trek show! So I thought it would have been nice to have that digital option for the VOY doc, but I understand if it's not possible. Will check out the backers DVD option.
