i think they needed to go back to having it be a UNIVERSAL show... making it for "adults" is unnecessary... we already have plenty of shows like that.

We need one that all ages can learn from, and think about.

I'm okay with that. I had forgotten about the show, honestly. Meet in the Middle and Try, Try were the only episodes that I felt like were even above average. Having to stand up to Black Mirror certainly didn't help.

Season 2 was an improvement over Season 1 but this show did not deserve a third season. The entire first season of this show was woke garbage and it became clear the first, second and third priorities of this series was to be woke, woke and woke.

I honestly don't know how anyone can take pride in this series. Jordan Peele is capable of so much more as Get Out and Us demonstrated and he completely half-assed this revival. I'm down on JJ Abrams but he is the guy who would have done the best job with the TZ. He is a fan of the original and his TZ homage on Felicity was perfect and better than anything on this new series.

I suspect we'll have to wait another 15-20 years for the next TZ reboot. For the record, the 80s Twilight Zone consistently gets a bad rap. That was a really good series with some episodes that can stand with the original series (which was my all-time favorite show).

You know, just when you think this thin-skinned Altrighter nonsense was gone...

Don't call me an altrighter. I am not an altrighter and I have no use for the altright and what it represents.

I'm just calling the first season of the 2019 Twilight Zone what it was. Woke garbage. That was the most important thing to the writers, not creating a good product. Make this the first priority leads to a decline in the quality of a lot of products, this new version of The Twilight Zone being one of them.

Good grief, did you even see the original? The whole point of The Twilight Zone was to let Rod Serling do social commentary under the radar, to make statements about racism and war and the like that he wasn't able to get past the censors until he realized he could disguise them as fantasy. Many episodes of the original show were extremely preachy, even more than Star Trek.

Of course I saw the original Twilight Zone. It was my favorite show and I watched every episode. Rod Serling knew how to do social commentary effectively and put out an entertaining product. The 2019 Twilight Zone didn't know how to do that. As one observation on this board put it, the writers acted like they had just become woke and would basically scream it into the viewers faces for forty minutes. That was season 1 of the 2019 Twilight Zone.

Even a weak episode of the original Twilight Zone was entertaining, which couldn't be said about this new Twilight Zone, particularly in the first season. To me, that put them in a hole that they were never able to climb out of, even with a more effective second season that was entertaining at times and better able to work in some messages.
