Man, I haven't been here in like a decade! Nice to see some of the "vets" are still here. Good thing to come out of the pandemic for me/us, and I'm very fortunate, but that my family and I have gotten closer and are spending a lot more time enjoying the outdoors (i.e. hiking).
For me, after I've been social for long periods of time there's nothing I need more than a little time to myself. But I spent so much of my high school and college years in total social isolation it's not fun to be forced to return to it after finally having other options.
I finally learned how to paint/ draw. Oh, and since I live in the uber-rural American South, the fact that the kids have to use internet to even have school meant that the state legislature finally got off of their duffs and made it possible for us to have broadband internet. I got to watch Picard and Discovery this summer.
I made a friend that I know I otherwise would not have. Because she is so busy. But with Covid she had time to get to know me thru facebook and the phone, and the zoom. And then we got to do a couple of things outside together. So that was cool!
I can work from home two days a week. I love it! It's nice and quiet, I have a bathroom to my own, I can use the time my computer is blocked by updates to do the laundry and if I oversleep it's no prob as there are only 5 meters from bed to office.
I’m in San Diego now and finding the Gaslamp Quarter got better. Places have way more outdoor seating and more places have life music.
For me very little positive came out of the Pandemic, whilst it's impact on my personal life was minimal I'm not exactly a party animal. Work was a different animal as I work in a key industry (Food) I had to deal daily with customers not respecting my personal space reaching over me to get something (instead of simply asking can I please just get x), the mask less hoards, be far better for my frustration levels when things get more back to normal
