It was just a watered down version of a Turn of the Screw, possibly mixed with Jane Eyre.
And no they should not have continued that. If I want to watch a Victorian Gothic/horror movie/series, then I'll watch a properly written one, not Janeway LARPing one in some B-Plots

That Victorian holonovel was terrible. But I am not a fan of holodeck episodes in general.

I have a bit of a fondness for Captain Photon and I genuinely like Hollow Pursuits, but otherwise I can't stand holodeck episodes.

Captain Proton bits in the show were fun. And we finally got to see the much talked about Delaney sisters.

A Proton miniseries or at least a Short Trek would be great

They could just explain it away with technobabble, or maybe even have other characters/actors play cpt proton.

it would be ridiculuos - i can't believe for a second mcneill would forgo all self esteem and do that. a bit like brent spiner being no longer able to play data albeit for different reasons.

the character tom paris may age into admiral paris but captain proton can not age - he's a comics character after all.

The holodeck characters only see the "in his prime" version of Proton. We viewers would have to suspend our disbelief and just accept that a slightly overweight middle aged man is playing make believe in our make believe television show as we sit on our couches eating Doritos.

Hence why I hate the holodecks.

The Black Orchid was made into a film, Dixon Hill and the Black Orchid sometime before the 22nd century. The series was published to Federation holosuites by Broht & Forrester in the 24th century. (ENT: "Cogenitor"; VOY: "Author, Author")

poor publisher went bankrupt cause only 1 person in the whole galaxy played it. right? XD

look at Photons Be Free and Insurrection Alpha for actual evidence of what I write being true and what you insist on being obviously wrong.
