Hi! I got into B5 for the first time earlier this year, and I'm totally in love with the series. I really would like to register on b5tv.com to engage in the forum. However, one needs a password (answer to random security question) to complete the registration. I have mailed b5tvreg@b5tv.com but don't get any answer - would you be able to help me? I don't use a gmail-address. Thanks a lot. Klas H.
Sorry, can't help you. Your link is a close file, which you need a certain program to open it. Most of us won't open the file if we could, base on that it may contain virus, malworms and trojans. We don't want none of that stuff on our PC or Trekbbs, do we.
What are you talking about? I just linked the relevant e-mail which is posted on the B5TV-site. No need to click it.
No you don't click the e-mail address. You go to your e-mail and you send a e-mail to b5tvreg@b5tv.com to get a password from them. Also, you're not allow to use Gmail as your e-mail address. Plus, you didn't mention that B5TV.com was a forum.
Please understand that I don't have any interest in attacking you are anybody else on this forum, but for the future I'm sure that not only I, but everybody else here, would appreciate it if you actually took the time to read the original post before pointing out things that have already been addressed by the creator of the thread. First you say you can't help me. Then you tell me I'm posting potentially dangerous "links". Then you go on and post the same "link" yourself and recommend I do stuff I already said I've done in regards to registering. Perhaps just save all of us, yourself included, some time and don't reply at all next time? Have a nice day.
It's just an email link to open whatever email program you want to use to send an email. It doesn't require a certain program. Mine just defaulted to Outlook, so no harm no foul. When did you email? It sounds like this is an administrative task which means it must be replied to individual.
They did though. ETA: @JamesBondJR This is what the forum registration says: We receive a LOT of spam accounts. To become a member, you need the password. Please drop an email to b5tvreg@b5tv.com and just ask for it, and we'll send it. A very brief statement about why you want to join would be welcome. Sorry for the inconvenience, but this little hurdle will keep the site spam free for you to enjoy. So, I think you might just have to wait.
First time was October 16th, 2020. Also tried again three days ago. Both times I used a protonmail-account.
Reading the boards looks like that was an issue as recently December of registration not going through.
I send a message to b5tvreg@b5tv.com using yahoo mail to see if that is his or her email. It went through. Base on that he or she is assigning passwords instead of using a automatic password assigner. You probably would have to wait for he or she to respond to get your assigned pasword.
Reading the boards now, the post from December by the user "Looney" is actually referring to me, making a fuzz on the JMS News forum (the same as I'm doing here). E-Mailing goes through, but the response has taken many months so far.... Anyway, I guess I'll just have to wait. If any of you should get a response with the password, please tell me, ok? =] Thanks.
I have a Gmail so I didn't attempt. However, @yenny might get a response and that might give you some insight. Beyond that, I have no idea outside of what you have already done.
I'm found this in their Gmail/Googlemail Baned Message: Please use an email address such as one provided by your ISP, university, employer or Hotmail. It's in their FAQ. Those email base on their Gmail banned message are the only ones they allow, not even Yahoo mail is allow. I try to join the forum the normal way by using my yahoo mail. I think if they won't let anyone use any email to join them and haven't responed to emails sent to them or they want everyone to use certain emails, Ask a question, why you want to join their forum. Then it isn't worth joining their forum in the first place.
Alright, I finally got a reply with the password. My university-email-address seems to have done the trick, so thanks to you yenny, for the suggestion <3 As I have now gotten the help I needed, admins can now archive this thread, if they want. Thanks!
