Wow! I wonder if he decided he missed it, or if they just offered a shitload of money?
If this is from Deadline then it's legit, them, Variety, Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Weekly, are pretty much the best, most trustworthy sources for this kind of news.

I'd be down for more Chris Evans Cap action. His solo movies are my favorite of the bunch. I'm guessing this will have to be pre-infinity war flashback stuff ala Black Widow, but part of me would love to see him pick up the Shield for some late-40's/50's espionage type film.

I guess my big question from Endgame is what happened to him once he went back. Did he just lay low and lead a quiet "house husband" life while Peggy did her SHEILD thing? Would love to see the reveal when he shows up at her door. Ah well..

Not to be horrible but his non-MCU CV isn't overflowing with massive hits. 'Knives Out' was a big success but that was very much an ensemble cast piece.

A cameo in Falcon and the Winter Soldier, maybe in its second season, could be great. See if the old man can still kick ass!

I could also see him playing a mentor role to Kamala Khan or Kate Bishop...

I would imagine it is more they pulled a dump truck full of money up to his house. Kevin Pollack once said of doing Juwanna Mann that at some point once they keep throwing money at you it just becomes financially irresponsible not to do it no matter how good or bad the movie is.

I'm surprised Deadline would post something like that without it definitely being true.

So he has a successful stage debut, is lined up for a Pixar flick (which is practically a guarantee for success critically and financially), had a great Mini-Series (I forgot about Defending Jacob, and I watched the first few episodes!) and despite being in a mediocre movie he was still praised for his acting.

    Not exactly rock-bottom.

Sure, but Lightyear hasn't come out yet, and none of that stuff has brought in anywhere near the kind of money the MCU movies have.

Marvel and Pixar deals have set him for life if he's playing his cards right.(Not buying large mansions and expensive cars)

Plus he does a few conventions(Once things return to normal)

I've seen some speculation (and for the record, that's all it is, pure speculation) that Deadline may have misinterpreted their info, and that Evans is in talks to helm a MCU project behind the camera. Everything I've read about the man is that he believes his future in Hollywood is more than likely behind the camera, that's where his passion seemingly lies. Would make sense for him to get a shot somewhere in the MCU, perhaps with episodes of one of their Disney+ shows.

I didn't mean to imply that he did. A couple posts had been made about how successful his post MCU career had been, and I was just pointing out that none that stuff has done was well as his Marvel movies.

Sucks to be the Captain America frozen in ice in the alternate timeline Old Man Cap created to go back and live with Peggy. Did he just leave that Steve Rogers frozen the entire time? Did he free from ice early?

Right? Could he, as moral and upstanding as he is, just sit by and not do anything while the world unfolds as it did? Could he, with his knowledge of the future just let things like the JFK/MLK assassinations take place? He's the world's biggest boy scout. I just don't think he would be able to wait for them to recover "frozen Steve."

I imagine there he was in a sort of Prime Directive situation - if he interfered with the timeline, was there a risk that he could change it in such a way that the Avengers couldn’t defeat Thanos? Especially given that Strange said that he’d seen numerous (or was it infinite?) futures and in only one were they successful.

Based on my interpretation of Endgame, he wasn't in an alternate timeline. He was in his own past. Which, by Hulk's rules of time travel, means he physically could not alter the past. He could fight till his hands falls off and have hundreds of honest to god victories over hydra or anything else, it would still somehow lead to the same future he came from because he was always part of that timeline.

If you interpret Endgame differently, then there's no reason to believe him trying to change anything would in any way make Thanos any more likely to win. Dr. Strange's visions were based on the state of the world he was already in, where Thanos already had multiple stones and the Avengers were divided. Changing the input could easily make defeating Thanos much easier. So in such an alternate timeilne, Cap could do anything he wanted with any result, which being Captain America, he would just do the right thing: take down Hydra, save Bucky, save frozen Steve, stop Shield from experimenting with the Tesseract, etc.
