    Aw, thank you both!
Haha, McFarlane making a figure of MacFarlane, that would be fun! I always have to make sure to not mix them up.
I don't have much by them, the original Mulder & Scully which have no joints and the Stranger Things figures wich I like, but their joints are looking a bit weird. Oh, and the new Kirk, that was by them as well, right? He's looking good but I haven't done anything with him. I hope they would not just make an Ed and nobody else from the team.

I don't care who does it, I just want figures and no Funko Pops please.

I bought Chakotay a punching ball! And I made his grey shirt (from old shoulder pads) and boxing gloves (with plasticine)! Anyone have resolutions to stay fit for the new year? ;) Chakotay invites you to join him for a workout session.

I dragged out my treadmill and have tried-started a little yoga. I’m not looking to lose weight; I just want to be a little healthier

For anyone interested, I found a YouTube channel with some interesting toy concepts from the late 80s. These are mainly the concept pitches. Fairly oddball stuff. :rommie:

Invasion Earth was an unreleased toyline that apparently sat around for several years without actually being launched. Initially it was to be produced by Tyco, who intended it to follow up their successful Dino Riders line. The company loved the basic concept and prototypes, and was ready to invest in the development of a toyline and tie-in cartoon, when they got unfortunate news. Dino Riders was in the process of launching its third wave at the time (Ice Age) and the projected sales were far lower than what was initially expected and hoped for. Therefore, the president of Tyco decided to pull the plug on DR after the wave, and to pass on Invasion Earth entirely.

The concept then was passed to Hasbro, who wanted to combine it as part of the G.I. Joe line and have the Joes fight the aliens together with the humans from the IE line. Initially there was a lot of optimism for incorporating the two lines, but Hasbro's development leadership was rotating at the time and ultimately they sat on it for three years without actually launching any of the IE elements, or directly returning the concept to the creators. Finally they sidelined it and several other projects to launch an ill-fated line based on Conan the Barbarian. Whoops...:p

In perhaps a final twist of irony, the concept was given to Film Roman in 1995 (the studio that, among other projects, has animated series like Simpsons and Family Guy). They too were initially very enthusiastic, only to stop actual production when two major films (Mars Attacks and Independence Day) came out with two variations of the entire concept.

I wouldn't mind training with Chakotay! All the squats and push-ups and running around... wearing togas...

The Junkman is one of the best YouTube toy content makers. He's endlessly entertaining and posts videos that always educate me.

    How about some skiing?

I have a friend on Twitter who is always decorating the shop window of her local pharmacy. Easter, carnivale, Christmas... and last week she did a winter theme with skiing. Check out the pictures here:

A long long time ago a friend had made little skis for me, from coffee stirrers but I never have done anything with them as I did not like the skiing poles which were just straws.

So I got inspired and I went to look whether I could find something better in my stash. The metal rods are from file folders I believe. I also tried out spaghetti as they were lighter for Chakotay to hold up in the air.

It's a cool figure, but I kinda wish his facial expression weren't so bored.

Thank you! Someone said I should not share my secrets, it would take the magic away, but I want to inspire others to look at everything with new eyes. It's really not difficult or expensive to put some things together!

Even though I had everything cleared away already, I had to put it back on as I thought of another scene ;)
We also had a thunderstorm and snowstorm earlier this evening, so maybe I can take some pictures in real snow as well.

Yeah, at least give the figure a swap-out head with a frightened or goofy expression, perhaps with his tongue slightly hanging out. That would have made this figure nearly flawless.

"Tom, fix that holodeck program, willya?!?"

We interrupt our posting of fake snow pictures for a real snow picture I took on the balcony this morning ;)
We had a thunderstorm combined with snow storm last night.
