Hope we find out. Same for the Dominion. Those bastards don't give up easily, they would definitely be trying to find tech to work around The Burn.

The Collective is dead. Borg Cooperatives replaced them and are a part of the Federation.

Guinan did suggest that it was possible for the Borg to join the Federation. Just not during the TNG era.

The Shapeshifters Vorta and Jem Hadar are the interesting ones. Destroying the cloning facilities without giving the Jem Hadar breeding capability would be genocide

The Borg are still out there. Watching. Waiting...

It's just that the Federation isn't worth crap right now.

Not having seen any of the newer series other than S1-2 of DISCO, I'm still happy with the solution in the Destiny trilogy of novels.

Seems like there should be some mention of The Borg at some point- they were major players in the Delta Quadrant 800 years previous.

Starfleet put a bunch of Janeway statues along the border of the delta quadrant, that kept them away. One cube got close to one but mysteriously exploded.

Book: The programmable matter that we sabotaged will take control of the USS Armstrong within the hour.

Vance: Why are you doing this? I don't understand.

    Book: Resistance is futile.

    Vance:

Saru: Admiral, why do you look so shaken? That's just more smack talk from a smuggler.

    Vance: :sigh:
