Flotter reminds me of Zoobilee Zoo.

Anyone here who wasn't a little kid (or a parent of a little kid) in the mid-'80s should consider themselves lucky if they don't know what I'm talking about. ;)

Future pop/high culture references usually work best in list form: real Human, real Human, future Human, alien

Uhura singing Beyond Antares in a 60's style did not take one out of the episode of TOS so the franchise can make their own culture shit up, especially when their real life cultural references are always from North America.

Didn't you ever read the opening of Paul Stamets' own bio?

It starts with: "I was born a poor black child...":wtf:;)

That was one of the best episodes of trek i've seen in a long time. It had the right pace allowing me to absorb the emotions and not pew pew

Zora was discussed at an earlier point, and whether the voice was the same as in Calypso.

Annabelle Wallis is listed as a guest for this episode.

Sorry if this was covered already.

    Such a beautiful story.

This is an episode, in my opinion, that will very well be spoken in the same breath as The Inner Light and The Visitor.

But also, I think just in general, character moments and emotional moments were the stars of the episode. This was strictly a character piece that, unfortunately, Discovery hasn't done enough of in the two seasons prior. I want more of THIS.

I don't have a problem with them showing an old movie in the cargo bay, because it's basically been established the ship's computer is Zora now. We know Zora had a thing for old-time movies, so...of course that's what she would suggest.
