So, here they are -- the future Starfleet uniforms finally appear in 3x05 "Die Trying"

    First impressions:
    - Grey.
    - Starfleet still likes a close fit.
    - Admirals still have redundant duplication of insignia!
    - The new combadges are there.
    - The tick / check-marks on the collar definitely seem to have significance.

The new uniforms seem to come in several basic types:

    1. A more formal variant with a jacket and a coloured stripe down the right side of the body
So far, we can see white and also (on background extras) blue and golden yellow.

    2. A less formal variant (a one piece) with coloured sleeves and yoke and a different torso and legs.
So far, we have seen what appears to be dark blue over the standard grey and white over what could be the grey but might be the same dark blue (the lighting makes it a little tricky to be sure.

    3. The Admirals' variant of the formal grey jacket
No coloured stripe down the front but a coloured patch at the front of the collar and matching piping around the edge of the collar and the shoulders. In this case, the colour is red. There are black epaulette / shoulder straps with gold piped edging and insignia that seem to follow the mirrored pair of insignia on the collar.
The close-up shots also reveal that there's quite a bit more construction detail in terms of the texture / quilting on the shoulders that can be seen from a distance.

I like the new uniforms. They look more futuristic while still being recognizable as starfleet.

Yes, it's an interesting way to take them. My only criticism so far is that they really needed to go with boots that don't look quite so much like the ones from the Discovery uniforms...!

The admiral version, with the collar piping and the epaulettes looks bit reminiscent of the Babylon 5 Earth Force uniforms.

In the grand scheme of things, however, I rather like what they have chosen to do.

I think I still prefer Discovery’s original uniforms
But I do like the futuristic vibe. It feels time appropriate

Some of them are fairly reminiscent of the Bajoran Militia uniforms.

Yes, the combination of the sleeve/shoulder design on the one-piece uniform with the elliptical combadge does have a bit of a Bajoran vibe, doesn’t it?

Overall not bad. I don't care for the stripe. That should be more like the entire right third of the top if anything.

More hints as to where Starfleet has relocated?

I think they look decent though the asymmetrical line on one irritates me. But, that's a minor quibble over a likeable design.

Hmmm -First the com badge/ transporter thingy looks like an old Bajoran com badge and now some of the uniforms have a Bajoran vibe. The coincidences are piling up...

    They look fine to me.

I'd have preferred a weirder look for the far future Starfleet, but that not typically what Star Trek does.

why is everyone who works on Star Trek Discovery incapable of designing anything that doesn't look like absolute dogshit? Whether its aliens or costumes, STD will always have the worst designs.

Much better than the 29th Century uniforms in VOY. Although a little drab with the grey, imo.

I like them but would rather more colour. The grey is not doing it for me.

I can judge until I see them in action.

I really liked the uniform Ken Welsh was wearing though. It had a B5 vibe to it. But, you know, good.

Oh, I liked those, in a sort of 'so gaudy they're good' way.

Is it possible the Discovery crew will get these new uniforms?

They are sporting the new com badges in photos that have been released. So maybe they use the new coms but keep their 23rd Century uniforms.
