so yeah it is like garlic and pineapple. that type of flavoring is absurd and should not be allowed at all-- down with pineapple garlic it does not work IMO ---
I agree but nevertheless it's tasty, like pineapple on pizza, smoked ham and melon, prune chutney and roast duck or cinnamon and chicken stew. Things can be beyond our imagination and nevertheless good (like Star Trek) or horrible (like the new Star Wars movies). We simply have to try new things out and decide for ourselves. (I can't recommend garlic and sugar. Dropped a bit of garlic in my sugar bowl the other day and happened to have it in my rose tea yesterday. An unforgettable experience but not one I'd like to repeat)
Given that a full 50+ percent of responses have been positive, there must be a very real appeal to pineapple on pizza. I think it can be argued that the only wrong answer is to say you don't like it without trying it.
This talk of garlic reminds me... there's a restaurant in San Francisco called "The Stinking Rose." They specialize in dishes heavily seasoned with garlic. They even have garlic ice cream, and a cocktail with pickled garlic in it. Kor
That ice cream is also one of the highlights at the annual Gilroy Garlic Festival (which didn't happen this year). It gets mixed reactions. Kor
If watching Chopped! with my wife over the years has taught me anything, it's not what the weird item is, per se, that makes a difference but whether that item can make sense in a flavor profile your taste buds will enjoy. IOW, the attempt is put together a combination of salty, sweet, sour, bitter, and umami that is palatable, sometimes adding secondary tastes like spiciness and avoiding tastes like astringency.
I guess pineapple on American pizza is ok. I mean, it's not like they are ruining a real pizza, right?
Pineapples are great. Pineapples on pizza is against the law. Against the law of Physics even, they are not supposed to touch!
Indeed, yes. The amount of division on this astounds me and continue to do so. Honestly, I love pineapple on pizza. I have combined it with pepperoni to have a sweet and spicy combination, which is quite good.
To the tune of "Let it Go"... Pick it off, pick it off, One piece then two then three. Pick it off, pick it off, No pineapple for me. If you like it, well that's just fine On your pizza it stays... But I'm taking it right off of mine.
^^ Pfff! [DEATH METAL VOICE]YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHH!!!! PINEAPPLE!!! BELONGS ON PIZZAAAAA!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!!!![/DEATH METAL VOICE]
