I can definitely see current streaming Trek crossing over in some small way. Even if it's like how Crisis on Infinite Earths included an Ezra Miller cameo (and you know it's only a matter of time until Trek does it's own version of CoIE)

it almost has to happen, now. Kelvin Kirk could meet Prime Pike, for instance

Yeh once MCU and DC do the alternate universe crossover movies (Dr Strange 2/Spiderman 3 and The Flash) could totally see Trek following with an epic Kelvin/Prime crossover - sort of like that crossover they were half planning after Nemesis.. (but now with Pine & co, Anson/Peck/Mystique, Stewart and various TNG/DS9/Voy/Ent and CG deaged Shatner & co).. like the way Trek followed Star Wars' success to the big screen or how ST09 followed Batman & Bond to a reboot (or the way Beyond tried to follow the success of Marvel/Guardians over being 'too star trek')

I can't see this happening in a million years.

The 2009 film was the first Star Trek, anything I had ever seen, the Kelvin timeline holds a special place in my heart and I would love to see this universe continue in some form.

I would like to see the Kelvin timeline continue. I do think it's time for them to look at possibly doing a limited series with the Enterprise crew (ala Mandalorian) for a streaming platform. Would be great to see 6 or 10 standalone "episodes" set on Chris Pine's Enterprise. That might also give them a shot in the arm to make a 4th move.

Yes, it should continue. It would be a waste to just abandon the concvept. That being said, since a new feature film isn't actually coming anytime soon, start a television series or limited series spin-off in the Kelvin timeline in order to bide time.

Indeed, yes. It is a fantastic concept and a lot of fun. To leave it aside would be sad.

Watched Beyond again Friday night and love the film more and more as the years pass. Easily my fav Kelvin film. I really wish they could make more with this cast (and I'd have Simon Pegg write every future film) but, as time passes, this looks unlikely. Damn shame. I feel like they finally found the potential of this cast and premise with Beyond. And then it was gone.

I enjoyed the new movies. It was like heavy metal star trek. Absolutely awesome. Would definitely watch more

I doubt the Kelvin universe will continue since it can easily be perceived as too close for comfort to Strange New Worlds, with one actor playing Spock in the movies and another in the series, while even a crossover from SNW would likely apply the Kurtzman style to that universe and again make the viewer question what they’re seeing in the existing movies. Best to just file it under Abrams’s solution for the day and carry on in the current prime universe.

If we can have concurrent cinematic and television Superman, we can have the same with Spock.

a while ago maybe, (although there was Smallville/Superman Returns etc) but very soon movies goers are going to have more multiverse movies than they'll know what to do with so KelvinTrek can easily come under that no problem for the audience to figure out wtf is happening and why there are 2 Spocks

and its funny to think back to 09 the JJverse/Kelvinverse was elevated to 'prime' status over the defunct Primeverse..which has since been reversed.

Yes, but the Arrowverse is front and center with the multiverse concept in a way that Star Trek is not. If Abrams could’ve used young Nimoy’s Spock, I’m sure he would have: the focus in the film is on a timeline change, not on a classic reboot or independent creation to be retconned in as a universe within a multiverse. There is no standing argument that Peck is what Spock looks like in the latest prime universe, whereas Quinto is what he looks like in the Kelvin universe, something which is obvious in the case of Superman.

Fans are not so stupid as to get that confused that easily. Even my mom, who is not a fan, went, "George Kirk. Must be Kirk's dad" at the beginning of ST 09 and figured out it was a different universe than the few TOS films she had seen. My mom actively hates science fiction so if she can figure it out then the average Trek viewer can too.

Here's the secret: Spock always looks like Spock, regardless of which actor is playing the role. This is true in the same way that Superman always looks like Superman, James Bond always looks like James Bond, Indiana Jones always looks like Indiana Jones, Tarzan always looks like Tarzan, and so on, ad infinitum.

No matter if two or three or ten different actors all play the same character in different productions, unless the story explicitly tells us otherwise, the character always looks like the character to all of the other characters, and it is part of the audience's contract of willing suspension of disbelief with the storyteller that the character always looks like the character to them, too.

Now. @Boris Skrbic , kindly cease trying to hijack this thread after you've just been cautioned within the last day against doing the same thing in another.
