Ezri Tigan graduated from the Academy and was an Ensign as she served as an Assistant Counsellor, still undergoing what seemed to be an additional year of training upon completion of her studies.

Deanna Troi entered the Academy in 2355 and graduated in 2359, but sometime between 2357 to 2361 she and Riker were dating when he was assigned to Betazed. She could've done a couple years at the Academy campus on Earth, then transferred to one on her home world (perhaps one that specialised in psychology, diplomacy and social sciences) when she went into her third year and stayed there until she graduated. Between 2359-2360 she may have taken an assignment at the Starfleet complex on Betazed as she completed her time as an Assistant Counsellor and was promoted to Lieutenant (jg). She then had four years to go up another rung on the promotions ladder and likely got her Lieutenant Commander pips just before being assigned to the E-D in 2364. For such a meteoric rise, she must've been doing something right, or at least impressing the right people, I mean it took Riker seven years to go from Ensign to Commander, and she made it to Lieutenant Commander in just five

Since she can't work 24/7 then I'd assume there were at least two other counsellors onboard, to have one per shift.

^ When it comes to promotions the Kelvin Starfleet does it much faster. The Prime lot were slow....

I definitely preferred her in uniform rather than her "work" attire.

Never quite understood why boots had the saggy and wrinkled look to them:

There's just so much wrong with the skant outfit. It looks like it's not even finished.

That too, but a sort of seam to improve fit along the waist (and visually give the garment more structure) and a hemline along the skirt would have helped too. As it is, the skirt looks like they just randomly cut the fabric there and called it a day.
Plus the skirt should be longer and, as you say, worn with pants (and normal shoes)

Troi looked terrific in her Command Uniform and less like "eye candy" than in those silly bunny suits they made her wear. She's beautiful either way, but the Command Uniform lent her character some credibility.

If they were the only person on the ship with empathic abilities, maybe they would be.

Other then her empathy, what other reason could there be for Troi to routinely be on the bridge?
Or people on the ship schedule their appointments around the one psychologic counselor's duty shift. Out of a thousand people, how many are going to require counseling? A dozen or so?

You'd be surprised, especially after events such as the ones depicted in Disaster, Best of Both Worlds, or even the Last Outpost when life support was failing.

She carried out crew evaluations every three months, so it looks like she was involved in various aspects of personnel and administration, she'd also need to carry out regular psychiatric exams at least once a year, debrief crew who had undergone a traumatic away mission and provide follow up counselling on a daily/weekly basis, be on call for patients who suffered some sort of trigger or psychological break, provide the school with assistance for child psychology and development as well as working with parents and families, help officers and crew with stress, anxiety and other workplace issues (some might well be overwhelmed at being on the Federation flagship and put greater pressure on themselves which can lead to issues further down the line with their performance and relationship with colleagues/superiors/subordinates), provide Picard and Riker with sociological/xenological assessments of species for diplomatic contact, act as backup for Picard on particularly difficult negotiations.

That's just what I can mind her doing or would expect her to be involved with on a day-to-day basis, placing all that on one person is just going to lead to burn out of the counsellor, so there would need to be some support for her onboard.

There's no way Deanna wouldn't have a department. Especially since, again, she spends a good chunk of her time sitting on the bridge playing Tetris.

I wonder if psychological/sociological research was being done on ship as well. On the crew and the peoples they met.

It's an important field of research so it would definitely need to be studied.

I had checked that scene on youtube and both look absolutely great in it.

It's something about the lighting in movies or the way it is shot that brings out the beauty of woman that you don't really notice on the small screen nowadays. I've noticed on TOS that they the female guest stars where shot with plenty of light that made their beauty them stand out which is similar to that scene.

She did have a fuller figure than most actresses who are given major roles but she did look really good in the catsuit number.
