New to Star Trek? Because this is a feature, not a bug.

It's been this way since TOS. The logic has always been the inertial dampers never completely fail, ergo you might get bounced around a bit but you'll never really get thrown around hard enough to die.

You may get some bruises or a few broken bones but those can be mended in a couple of minutes sick bay.;)

StarFleet Ships won't get them introduced until the end of ST:NEM

Just wondering if you have watched star trek before?

Also seat belts wouldn't help if the ship's inertial dampeners failed. Anyone wearing a seatbelt would get sliced up while anyone not wearing one would be smearing the bulkheads.

As is tradition. With the great medical advances they've made, especially in the realm of longevity, upwards career mobility replacing people retiring etc is slightly hampered. Must balance it somehow.

They were only invented in Discovery's era in the Kelvin timeline. In Prime, they only show up a century later in that Nemesis deleted scene and then Star Trek: Picard.

    Lost technology, along with fuses.

I appreciate that, thank you. Although in some countries that's actually used as an insult. Weird, huh?

No seat belts or no capitalisation, I’m not sure which is worse.
