As a Lions fans, I feel Gase still being employed is the only reason people aren't talking more about the need to fire Matt Patricia.

If not after a 24-0 shutout loss to Miami, then when? Yeah, Jets are a team that could care less about winning, ever.

Week 8 for Miami will officially be Tua Time™. They will start Tagovailoa against the Rams despite the Beard doing well.

If Tagovailoa struggles, Flores will create a locker room problem that he really can't afford. Because if things go bad and Tua struggles, there is really no going back. They should have waited for Fitzpatrick to stumble a bit, though this is likely a move dictated by Stephen Ross.

Fitz's last game or two were somewhat down from the previous ones, but yeah, hardly struggling.

The Lolphins have been mediocre, even with Fitz on good rolls, maybe better to get Tua going while the team is doing OK rather than waiting till they're really taking a shit. Less pressure for Tua?

I think it depends on the individual, honestly. How is he going to react to the pressure of being in a playoff race vs. taking the reins when things are down. If things go sour, there will be a lot of faces in that locker room looking at Tagovailoa and wondering why he is playing when they were in a good position with Fitzpatrick.

I don't know if this is a good decision or not honestly, I guess it will come down to how resilient Tua is if things go poorly for several weeks.

So, Monday night, your 4-2 Rams @ my (somehow) 5-1 Bears. Any predictions?

Will Nagy waste a timeout in the first 5 minutes again? Will Foles continue looking the same as, or worse, than Trubisky?

Honestly I have no idea. After that debacle in San Francisco I don't know what to think.

I think the Bears can outlast the Rams at this point. Next week it starts getting trickier with the Saints, then the Titans. We haven't even seen the Packers yet. Bears could still end up 8-8 or worse. I do not wear rose colored blinders when it comes to my teams.

Sounds like Antonio Brown is Tampa-bound.

I guess the signing will depend on which Antonio Brown shows up? The Steelers All-Pro who wasn't outworked for most of his time there or the petulant diva he's been since the last year of his run in Pittsburgh?

Well, Pats' game was a heck of a turd. Completed as many passes to the 49ers as they did to their own players (or at least felt that way). Not sure what the deal is, but basically nothing went right in that one...

The Bears are who I thought they were after all.

Nagy seems stuck in 2018 even though the league adjusted to him in 2019. That might even be the same exact laminated card he used in 2018.

Add in a complete (and I mean utter) lack of awareness of the flow of time. I have never seen such a lackadaisical attitude when you have to score 3 TD's in 5 minutes.

Foles is either really no better than Trubisky, or Nagy really is that bad at playcalling (Nog: "probably a little of both").

Bears might go 7-9 if they can manage to beat Detroit and Minny again, but I can't see wins vs Saints, Titans and Packers (2x). Texans and Jags could go either way for a possible 9-7 record.

Even at that point they probably don't fire Nagy, though with the main criteria for any new hire being Virgina saying "he's a nice boy", a new coach won't make much difference. The McCaskey's have to go along with every single other person in the front office.

    Thank you for your time.

Yeah, you're not going to win a lot of games when your offense puts up 3 points.

And I agree the clock management in the 4th quarter (and right before half come to think about it) seemed off.

Anyway, you gotta love a game where the punter is the MVP. That was actually pretty amazing.

My Sk...er..."Football Team" is now back in first place in the NFC-E with two division wins! WOOT!! [IMG]

Honestly, after yesterday's rout over Dallas, I gotta wonder how they got so handily trounced by New York, considering their current record.

"Any Given Sunday" and all that, I guess...

That dude is one of the best punters I can remember.

Nagy's clock management issues go all the way back to 2018. I think he's wasted more timeouts due to the play-clock running down than any other coach, not to mention the larger number of delay-of-game penalties.

Add in that every single time they go for a 4th down, Nagy tries some tricky shit instead of something straight forward and almost always fails. Bears were 5th worst (#28) in 2019 on 4th down % while being #11 in attempts.

And last week, two 12-men-on-the-field flags on the same drive by Carolina.

A very disorganized organization that gets lucky more than they are good outside of a few years.

This happened a couple of times just this past Sunday as well. With all the extreme and frequent injuries that have been inflicted across the entire league this season, they're fielding second- and third-stringers all over the place that don't have the kind of situational awareness that seasoned first-stringers would have under normal circumstances. Basic things like discipline over the number of men on the field, false starts, neutral zone infractions, holding, etc., all go out the window. The coaching staffs of the teams need to step up their game and watch for some of those things, which don't seem to be happening either, as they're too overwhelmed holding their teams together with spit and bailing wire.

    Expect it to get worse.
