Will we get a new series with a major DS9 or Enterprise legacy?

It would be nice to just let a story be done. DS9 ended on a good note. While references are probably going to happen it's OK for things just to rest.

I'd like to see T'Pol make an appearance on SNW just for the sake of honoring the legacy of Enterprise. She wouldn't require any particular explanation. Just be there to do a thing as a Vulcan representative.

Nope. Move on to "new" stuff. Don't mind people showing up, but when a show is done, that's it.

Only caveats is Enterprise, it didn't finish, cover the story it was meant to. So a followup or spin-off if that would be nice, but that is my opinion.

Not every Star Trek needs a sequel. That said, there's no reason why a character or alien race can't return. There's also the option to do a follow up to an episode or story arc.

In regards to DS9, I think the best we can hope for is a few characters making random guest appearances. In regards to ENT, I think that ship has sailed due to it's 22nd century setting. That said, we could see more of Daniels, future guy, the Suliban, Xindi, and so on. There's ways to tie in the show. I had suggested Daniels and Archer cameo on Lower Decks. lol

Unless the show is getting a movie, I basically agree.

The story it was meant to be was early Starfleet, the first Enterprise, space pioneers and all that. Retooled to the Xindi saga. Retooled again to pre-Federation. A lot of people think the pre-Federation stuff was what the show was meant to be. Nope. That was a 4th season retool. Had the show been a big hit, the pre-Federation story probably would have happened more gradually.

Good Lord. Move on. Move on. Move on.
I'm sick of small universe syndrome.
Just watched the end of DS9. It ends with actual emotion, but understated; and ambiguity. Just leave it.
    Move on.

Because I want this so much (moving on, and no more fanwankery), my magic "The Secret" anti-powers will probably beam into the quantum flux and make it not so. But a guy can hope.

Picard and Data got a series because they (and by proxy TNG) were the most popular of the Berman-era characters. It's the same reason TNG movies were made, and not DS9/VOY/ENT movies. The latter three just don't have as huge a following. I'm rather surprised they chose Janeway for Prodigy, but I guess she was the only person they could find.

For the thread topic's question, I would say not very likely, because in the public eye modern Trek means TNG and VOY.

So long as they're telling new stories that aren't rehashing the past, I'm fine with them using preexisting characters. Both Discovery (Spock, Pike, Una) and Picard (Picard, 7, Hugh) used preexisting characters. Both shows, Picard especially, told new stories that were very much not rehashes of old material. If they can do that with, say, Quark becoming a recurring guest star in Lower Decks, or Julian Bashir turning up in a supporting role in a future Trek show, or even Hoshi time traveling into the future in an episode of Strange New Worlds, I'm down for that. If it's, on the other hand, fanservice like Khan in Into Darkness, then that wouldn't be in service of story, and less interesting. It just depends on how it's done, nothing intrinsically wrong with it.

The story of DS9 can remain complete. Following a character or two on another story won’t change that.

Here's my thing, irrational though it might be. Bringing back a character invites all the desire for everyone else to show back up. So, it isn't bringing back two characters. You will invariably be "in for an ounce, in for a pound."

Maybe it won't be such. But, I don't see that as happening with the current way Trek shows are being run.

I'm far from believing it, but it sounds like the most likely scenario if this were to actually happen (Avery Brooks wants to do a show with Cirroc Lofton).

Not watching unless they include Kassidy Yates and his 2nd child.

It does sound more believable, but I literally made up the same scenario in another thread a few weeks ago. (EDIT: To clarify, I'm referring to saying Brooks would only come back if Lofton came back and they re-focused on the father/son relationship.) Not saying they got it from me; just saying it's a fairly obvious route, at least in my eyes.

So the report says they're hesitating now due to the ratings drop for Picard over season 1... But if that's true, why are they pursuing Brooks now if the ratings of something that aired seven months ago is making them second guess it? Don't buy it; feel like they're making stuff up and hoping it'll turn out to be true.

I still think Short Treks are the best vehicle for this. A 10 - 15 minute where are they now would be fun with a character or 2. Other than that nothing more than a passing reference makes any sense.
