    About bacon on pancakes... considering that bacon and/or sausage is usually served alongside pancakes on the same plate as standard procedure (or sausage embedded within the pancakes as in pigs in a blanket), I'm not sure why it's such a big deal to put them on top of the pancakes instead of beside them.
