Not part of it can be said was taken from another ship. That’s what I mean by original.

My headcanon is that the people of Beta III saw "The Purge" movies and then went, "Those lying Earthlings have their own Red Hour!"

My view is that all Star Trek fans should embrace the idea that all Star Trek is canon.

    ALL OF IT.

    Especially the incompatible parts.

Time travel, Q, pocket universes, the works.

Thatw ould be consistent with the books which described it as a cramped version of a Soverign bridge.

Probably. Although I got a kick out of her deciding not to potentially sacrifice herself, which is a callback to the TNG Exocomps, and she was never really ordered to do it. But she clearly left her post before such an order could be given, and is guilty of desertion. Almost a suicidal escape too, since she presumed the Cerritos was doomed and beamed herself into space (we see her floating at the end of the episode).

I think this is a legitimate loose end, and Peanut Hamper's story will continue. She was abandoned in space (her own fault), and people have already remarked that Badgey will likely return after taking over the Pakled fleet. When the Pakleds inevitably scour that wreckage again, they'll find her and take her in, and perhaps use her for slave labor.

Peanut Hamper might be Badgey's ticket back onto the Cerritos.

Animated Kirk & Spock makes perfect sense for how they'd appear in another animated series.
    TOS era in universe mention?
Wolf 359 was an inside job, sort of. From a certain point of view.
    Badgey returns!
Was the bat'leth Mariner was using the same one she slashed Boimler with?
    Shax is too badass.
Canon Titan finally! Jerry Goldsmith's score ftw.
    A tribble for "personal use"?
Riker is such a cool dude as a captain.
    Is Jen the Andorian Jennifer?
    Riker's Enterprise joke.

    A Six.

It was good, but there's just numerous aspects of the show that just still sort of don't click with me, I thought the "action" scenes were just too fast and messy. The character elements were decent, loved the use of Riker, Troi and the Titan but the episode and series as a whole just doesn't blow me away.

I'm glad so many people are apparently easily gushed and entertained but there's just a lot lacking in the show I need more than pretty pictures and characters who can pretty much do anything they want and characters who're just the butt of all of the jokes.

And I'm sorry, was I supposed to "care" that the Bajoran security officer died? I mean what meaningful contribution did he have to the show? That time he wanted to open fire on and a ship they were met up with? Or that time he wanted to open fire on a ship they were met up with? How about that time he wanted to fire on a ship they met up with?

What more to him was there than that?

Feh, I dunno. Not a show that blew me away, but I guess I liked it and was more entertained by it than I was Picard. So... Points?

Decent enough episode, the action is just too loud and chaotic.

Tendi is probably my favorite character and Mariner my least favorite.

Nice you decided to bash fans of the show. Maybe one day we’ll all be smart like you.

It's not intended as a bash. I just don't "get" how it seems like people so quickly and easily give these episodes 9s and 10s and rave and praise this thing as if it's just the best thing ever.

No reason for Vale to be there, as PIC has already invalidated the novelverse.

Likable characters, solid plots and lots of fun are why I enjoyed it so much. I think Lower Decks has the second best first season in the franchise behind TOS.

No reason for the ship to be as it was designed for the Novelverse either. The introduction of an original character instead of just sticking in a non-descript blonde woman (Vale) or leaving the chair empty is interesting, and implies that maybe McMahan has plans to develop the crew of the Titan, probably for use in at least one upcoming episode.

Could just mean the Titan was already designed and represented an easier option than designing another ship.

It’s not the best thing ever but it’s the best thing we’ve got so far in this new era of Trek.

Loved it. Goddamn - a fun, episodic season and a fuckton of emotional payoff at the end. Nice to see some Trek writers still remember how to do that.

Would have been really fun to see Vale or Tuvok in a blink-and-you-miss-it.
