How many times have you seen an episode, thought the show itself was really good... but the ending sucked like a $3,000 vacuum cleaner. Well, this is your chance to declare what you would have changed.

Like all games, there are rules to be observed. They are as follows:

    1. You may ONLY alter what occurs after the episode's main action has been resolved. Changing anything earlier is not permitted.

UNACCEPTABLE: In the final sequence of "Reunion", River drops Worf with his phaser moments before he can skewer Duras.

ACCEPTABLE: When Alexander asks Worf if he is his father, Worf realizes that the child will be dishonored if he claims him. He says "No, I am not," then explains that the boy will be sent to live with Khe'lar's relatives, and exits, leaving Alexander alone in the room.

    2. No killing or otherwise eliminating characters who are in the opening credits. Recurring characters may be removed, lethally or non.

UNACCEPTABLE: At the end of "The 37's", B'Elanna Torres and six other crew decide to stay with the "37's" at their colony.

ACCEPTABLE: At the end of "The 37's", seven Voyager crew (including disgruntled assistant engineer Lt. Kelly and pregnant Ens. Wildman) decide to stay with the "37's".

    3. Screw the reset button. It is entirely acceptable to make major changes. Promotions, demotions, reassignments, break-ups, reconciliations, adding new crew, or new romances (same or opposite sex) are permitted. As long as no main character is removed, anything goes.

UNACCEPTABLE: After "Best of Both Worlds Part II", Riker realizes that with his abilities, he should be in command. Starfleet offers him command of the USS Aldrin, and he accepts. Either Data or Shelby replaces him.

ACCEPTABLE: Starfleet is impressed by Data's successful use of Locutus to hack the Borg and save the Federation. They express their gratitude by awarding him a medal and promoting him to a full commander, but consider him too valuable to reassign.

    4. Try to keep it within the parameters of sanity and good taste, and keep it TV-14.

UNACCEPTABLE: The Borg baby from "Collective" actually meets the fate that Kate Mulgrew jokingly said it did (no, I won't repeat it).

ACCEPTABLE: The Borg baby's homeworld was close by. During Janeway's final captain's log, there's a scene where the doctor tenderly leans over and adjusts the sleeping infant's blanket, then taps his combadge and says "Energize", and the baby carrier vanishes.

    5. If you are reading this, expect spoilers, obviously. It's about ENDINGS, sheesh. Still, if you're posting anything from Discovery or later, give fair warning. And, I think that "Lower Decks" spoilers are prohibited.

UNACCEPTABLE: At the end of "A Moist Vessel", Ensign Boimler [REDACTED]

    Have fun...

    ENT: "Cogenitor"

Archer calls Trip into his office and explains that, while he regrets the decision, he couldn't give Charles sanctuary because the Vissians were too powerful to anger.

    Or, even better:

Archer agrees to give sanctuary to Charles. Post-episode, Charles will be sent back to Earth, or another Federation world, to complete their education. They promise to stay in touch with Trip. The Vissians are unhappy, but don't think one cogenitor is worth going to war over, so they depart rather huffily.

The grammar here is a little off. Are you saying Chakotay should be the Captain? Or Tuvok should be the Captain? It sounds like he's doing a coup here and making himself Captain. Maybe he'll arrest Chakotay and all the Maquis for crimes against the Federation, and confine them, Janeway, and Tom Paris (already a convicted criminal) to their quarters and run a skeletal crew towards the Delta Quadrant.

Tuvok becomes the captain, replacing Janeway.

(Technically, my problem was with clarity, not grammar.)

I actually thought that would have been cool, and considered making it one of my examples... the guy who was going to take her was genuinely moved by his devotion as a parent. He returns to Starfleet and recommends that Lal be left where she is. Data provides him with all data on Lal's creation, so that even if Enterprise gets pfoomed by Romulans or Borg, they know everything he did.

That would have been awesome, though I think Chakotay actually was next in line. But maybe something like...

    JANEWAY: "Energizing."

Tuvix slowly ceases to exist. Tuvok and Neelix materialize in his place.

JANEWAY: "Neelix, Tuvok... good to have you back."

TUVOK: "Thank you, captain. Unfortunately, as chief of security, it is my duty to place you under arrest for the murder of Lt. Tuvix."

    JANEWAY: "But... I..."

TUVOK (to security guards): "Please escort Captain Janeway to the brig."

On this point: Chakotay's role as CO depended on Janeway's benficence. As has been pointed out, his pips indicate that he held the rank of lieutenant commander provisionally. Chakotay has a good argument to become the captain, but as a matter of reality, Tuvok would have the support of a larger portion of the crew, especially those of rank. (Besides, the writers had already abandoned the Maquis angle for the most part, preferring a big, happy family.)

Because it made sense for them to be 75,000 light-years from the Federation and quibbling over border disputes involving the Federation and the and the cardassians

Honestly, it could have gone either way. By the alternate year of hell, which was basically Year 4, Tuvok was content to let Chakotay rise to the captain's chair upon Janeway's death. But in Year 2, he might not have felt that way. And indeed, more people would have taken his side.

So uh, how about at the end of the Voyager episode Threshold after the EMH has restored Janeway and Paris to their homo sapien forms, Janeway orders Paris' warp 10 modifications be made to Voyager, the ship returns to the Federation with the side effect of all aboard being transformed into large salamanders, the Doctor restores them all to homo sapiens. THE END

 Ha ha ha ha ha!

Well, I said you couldn't remove any main character from the series. I never said you couldn't end the series early, did I?

    Well done.

Q: "If you mate with me, Kathy, I'll bring you and your whole crew home."

More like Torres and Paris discuss how Paris’s latest horror holonovel is lacking coherent plot, scientific accuracy and shows Paris has a think for the captain and a kink for reptiles.

Good point... I mean, Janeway was willing to sacrifice herself and violate the Prime Directive to get home in "Endgame". So why not instead become Mrs. Kathryn Q and then spend a few millennia exploring the Trek-verse with him and their kid? Yeah, he's obnoxious, but he has the best sense of humor in the galaxy.

Shortly after being kidnapped, Data uses his superior android speed, grabs his captor by the back of the neck. Data informs him that by Federation law and Stafleet regulations he is allowed to use any level of force necessary against a kidnapper to secure his freedom. Data then walks with his captor (gripping his spinal column) to the bridge and calls the Enterprise.

Janeway says to guards "No, what you're going to do is take Tuvok to the brig." The guards look at each other confused. Janeway walks up point blank to the guards and says "make a decision." After a moment the two guards walk past Janeway and take the protesting Tuvok out of sickbay.Tuvok is convicted of mutany, and once a week Janeway visits him in his quarters, which he can't leave.

Because he didn't attempt to stab janeway in the back after rescuing him, Neelix is made chief of security.

The problem the Maquis had with Starfleet is being betrayed by them and the Federation. The Cardassians were a entirely separate matter.

Threshold. After being returned to Human form, Janeway orders a return to the planet to recover Her's and Paris's children. While they are not fully Human, you don't simply dump your children in a swamp. They would be established on the ship in a appropriate environment. Janeway would visit them daily to play with them and read them children stories.

Peak Performance. Kolrami says to Picard: "Very good military tactics Captain, for a supposed non-military vessel."
