Discovery Picard Lower Decks Prodigy Section 31 Strange New Worlds I think the earliest date possible for Section 31 is supposed to be 2023. Assuming that happens and Discovery, Lower Decks, and Picard are still running, all 6 of these shows could be going at the same time in just a few years. That doesn't mean we'd get 6 seasons per year though, there won't necessarily be a season every year. An average of 4 seasons per year would still be awesome. I was thinking about it though and if the seasons are only 10 episodes long the way they've been, that would still only be 40-60 episodes per year. Which might still be less eps than when DS9 and Voyager were both running. It's kind of a bummer that even if we do get 6 seasons in one year, it still won't be that many more episodes than 1 year of DS9 + Voyager. That just feels wrong. Anyway, which series are you most excited for? Which are you least excited for? I think Strange New Worlds for most and Prodigy for least excited would be my answer. I'm not holding my breath for Section 31 either but I heard the books were good. What a great time to be a Star Trek fan!

Scooby-Doo still has Star Trek beat, but perhaps not for long. 13 series vs. 10 series (including Short Treks) with three on the way and who knows after that. Both are active franchises, so it might be neck-and-neck for awhile. Star Trek has an advantage, though, with its willingness to run multiple series at the same time, but Scooby-Doo enjoys shorter runs.

Not reboots (with the possible exception of Mystery Incorporated and maybe the newer ones, I don't know), but continuations, for the most part, of the adventures of the Mystery Gang. I don't know if I would personally consider those spin-offs, but it is comparable to the relationship between TOS and TAS and perhaps the relationship between TNG and Picard (for the shows that just focus on Scooby and Shaggy and/or Daphne at a later point in their lives).
I’ll have to take your word for all that, as the only show I ever watched was the original, and I was unaware that there were spinoffs where the characters were meant to be the same exact ones from the original show, and not just updated versions, since I would think that those original characters would have aged considerably from show to show if that were the case (although I get that this is just a cartoon and probably not subject to those kinds of restrictions.)
I watched alot as a kid, and of course that means trying to understand all of it and trying to make sense of the prequel (A Pup Named Scooby Doo). But online sources are way more detailed than I imagined. It was mostly the animated movies and, to a lesser extent, the live-action films (even if a different continuity) that explored how the gang grew beyond their early adventures and reunited. The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo and related works in the '80s focused on Scooby and Shaggy, primarily, and Daphne or Velma were old friends from the past when they cameod, implying that these were later adventures beyond their Where Are You? days, even if they never outright stated it. I've never seen a version of Mystery, Inc. that wasn't in their mid-20s at most. And Garth is right. Japanese series like Gundam or Sentai or many others have dozens of spin-offs/continuations/reboots that put all of our measly fifty-year-old franchises to shame.
I just hope they can get decent international distribution deals for the newer ones. Having Discovery on Netflix was brilliant. Picard on Amazon was a little annoying, but still good. The absence of a deal for Short Treks, Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds, however, is a worry.

YES! And Why not, The Scooby gang to some degree inspired Buffy and that franchise made an impact as a cultural icon if not a cultural stone. All Franchises are equal even if YMMV.
I saw some Scooby Doo that was made in the '80s and earlier when I was a kid. Whatever versions they were, that's what I saw. And I don't remember much about it, other than they once had a crossover with Batman. Anything from the '90s on, I couldn't tell you about Scooby.
I can confirm negotiation is still ongoing, and that everyone is surprised its taking this long, even CBS. Easily the best time ever to be a Trek fan, and it currently has the widest viewership across the world its ever had in its history! Strictly speaking, we will probably never see any of the shows overlap, and the most we will see in any one year is probably 4 shows ( 2020 had 4 series on!). We have 8 "LIVE"" shows in some stage of active development at all times! All started by the hyper-successful Discovery of course. RAMA
