Breh. She part of the family now.

So this game got dropped out of nowhere because it looks like a fucking lemon. It was announced at The Game Awards 2019, and then nothing until the launch trailer this month. The game is developed by Slightly Mad Studios, who make the pretty decent Project Cars racing sims and NFS Shift back in the day. But there's was definitely some shenanigans happening in development because it looks like a 360-era Vin Diesel vanity project. The launch trailer had a lady who sounded like Sonequa Martin-Green, but I wasn't sure until this popped up.

Anyway, I'm waiting for Matt McMuscles to review this, because he seems to like it.

Though you would presume if the game based off a big franchise would make a big deal about the relatively well known actors cast in it. If this was an EA Star Wars game, you'd hear something, like when they got that guy from Gotham for Jedi Fallen Order.

Also, this is what I wanted.

I know what you mean. I remember when Oblivion came out and Bethesda couldn't stop going on and on in their website about Patrick Stewart being in it, even though his character is only in it in the beginning and then quickly killed.

Maybe the game publisher didn't think that the racecar gaming crowd had a large crossover with the sci-fi fandom? (Unlike with Elder Scrolls where the publisher can assume the sci-fi/fantasy gamers who play Oblivion at least know who Patrick Stewart is).

I think it's because the publisher thought the game looked like poop and wanted to quickly dump it. The character models are bad. It's not like Terminator Resistance, which was budget as heck and janky, yet really charming and faithful to Terminator 2's future war look. This is just 360/PS3 era 4-hour long licensed action game, but at full price in the 25+hour-era of gaming.

They got Sonequa Martin-Green, Asia Kate Dillon and Peter Stormare, along with Vin, Michelle and Tyrese - and none of them are phoning it in I might add. Not a peep of marketing.

You would think if the publisher was already expecting the game to be a flop, they'd be hyping up all their star talent as much as possible to try to at least get some money out of it.

It must be pretty bad, and they're just dropping it with little publicity in the hopes that everyone will forget about it.
