Have any of the canon books or comics revealed what happened with Han and the bounty hunter on Ord Mantell? The line was referenced in an article on the official Star Wars website, and it got me wondering if we've gotten a canon version of what happened there.

Not that I'm aware of, though you'd think the mainline Marvel series would have covered it since they went pretty much from ANH all the way up to ESB.

Maybe they're trying to avoid what happened in Legends and save it until they actually have a significant story worth telling.
With Legends there were like five completely different versions of that incident, which as per typical EU logic they all "happened". A bit silly for a number of reasons, but that's what you get when you have retcons as dense as sedimentary layers.

OK, so I didn't miss it when I was skimming through Wookiepedia. I asked here because I thought maybe I missed it.
This really shocks me, since that is exactly the kind of reference tie-ins love to fill in.

I wonder if that's to make up for The High Republic being delayed?

IIRC, the book was originally postponed from its original May release because they were worried they were stacking releases to close to each other and wanted to make things easier on people who were trying to stay on a budget. Now that the High Republic is postponed, there's any opening in a slot which is typically always filled for the past five years, so why not move up a book which is already done anyway?

Are there any plan for novels set after The Rise of Skywalker?

Nothing announced so far as I know. Indeed, there doesn't appear to be *anything* ST related on the slate, books or otherwise. Everything is either tied to the post RotJ era, PT, or the new High Republic sub-franchise.

Well, unless you count the Galaxy's Edge VR "game" that's been announced, though whether it's pre or post RoS remains to be seen.

Nothing that I've heard yet, but I'm thinking it's probably inevitable that we'll get some at some point.

I'm a bit curious of the state of the Galaxy. The First/Final Order is gone. The New Republic is in disarray with most of it's leadership killed. Sounds like a recipe for even more fragmentation.

    Queen's Peril is out today.

It takes place in the same time period as the park, so between TLJ and TROS. It's a "complementary experience"

Queen's Peril was a good read. I was surprised to discover that it went all the way through The Phantom Menace, and it was cool to see the events of the movie from the handmaidens' perspective.

Lucasfilm has announced that they are going to be doing a publishing program based on The Mandalorian.

The Mandalorian: Original Novel (adult novel) by Adam Christopher
The Mandalorian: The Ultimate Visual Guide by Pablo Hidalgo
The Mandaloria: Allies & Enemies - Level Two Reader by Brooke Vitale
The Mandalorian 8x8 Storybook (Title to be revealed later) by Brooke Vitale
The Mandalorian: Junior Novelization by Joe Schreiber

They didn't announce any specifics, but they also said that we will be getting comics from both Marvel and IDW, and magazine, novelty, and coloring books from Titan, Studio Fun, Thunder Bay Press, Disney Publishing Worldwide, and Dreamtivity. There's also going to be a Little Golden Book and a Screen Comix both based on Season One.

I'm curious what the adult novel is going to be, with the way this kind of thing tends to work I'm expecting this to be a prequel focused on one of the characters, probably Din. I think we did get some gaps between episodes, so I guess there's a chance it could be set during the season, but that seems unlikely to me.
I'm curious if the Little Golden Book, Screen Comix, and Junior Novelization are going to be based on just one episode or the whole season. The season as a whole would be pretty hard to cover in just one book, so it would make more sense to me to just do one episode.

So, a book that won't be allowed to be interesting because the show is still getting made and won't let important things happen offscreen, a visual guide that will probably be pretty good, and a bunch of kids stuff. That certainly the Disney style of making non-Movie/TV Star Wars stuff :sigh:

Yeah, the only book that kind of interests me is the Visual Guide. The rest is just Mandalorian fluff.

There was an Art of Season One book also announced. That for me is the only one I'm really interested in. The art at the end of each episode was GORGEOUS! Plus I collect the Art of Star Wars books.

I've been wanting a Mandalorian novel since the show started, so that's pretty high, not just on the one of these books I'm most excited for, it's pretty high up my overall reading list.
