I remember seeing the pilot in the theater, all at once. This was the version that had Baltar beheaded, which confused me at the time (I was 8), because I had already been watching the series where Baltar survived.

So, in theory, at what point of the plot should be the end of the second of the three episodes that are parts of the pilot?

Talking of padding, I predict the first season of the reboot to be 'Saga of a Star World' expanded to 10 hours. London seems to be the stand-in for Caprica City or whatever name they go with.

10 hours? Is Peter Jackson involved now?

Is it known yet what this project is? If it's not a sequel, prequel, remake, reboot, re-imagining, then what is it?

It was always officially a reboot, but Sam Esmail was trying to make out it was linked to the 2003 series. Except they’re casting a new Adama and Starbuck, so if it is linked, it’s still a reboot of some sort.

Then that's too short, but the new normal for shows.

When you said "Saga of a Star World" expanded to 10 hours, I got excited. But it the classic BSG pilot was padded at 3 hours, what will we get if they do 10 hours this time?

They can flesh it out a lot more. The attack doesn’t need to happen until the end of season 1, and they can properly set up the justification for it, all the characters, etc.

If this is a joint production with Sky, I hope they mandate exceptional cinematography. Their shows are generally jaw dropping, even the cheaper productions invest in production values and camera angles. With the added visual effects work, this could be on the same level as The Mandalorian and Star Trek.

I think we are seeing the answer to that right now. Despite the likelihood that their actions are going to increase the long term trauma and human toll of COVID 19 people were so desperate to get out of their homes and have a little enjoyment that they packed beaches over Memorial Day weekend...even though that meant a huge increase in illnesses. The humans in BSG were just acting...human.

The Battlestar Galactica series isn't a reboot, it's a spinoff of the 2004 Battlestar Galactica series. That take place place on another Colonial warship., during the same time period. It is not a battlestar, it's more like a Heavy Cruiser Explorer. It probably has offensive/defensive weapon and carry vipers/raptors.
Base on that it supposed to start streaming July 15 and yet no announcement of the title of the series itself. Which it make everyone think it's a reboot.
Also base on that they already have a filming sets for the series. Will mean they are filming the rebooted theater version of Battlestar Galactica; And don't need the use of the sets for the movie any longer.

The series doesn’t start filming until early 2021. They haven’t even finished their application for a UK tax credit yet, so hold your horses on the bonkers notion it’ll start airing next month and has sets. The studio they are filming in hasn’t even reopened yet.

They already announce that the new battlestar series will premier on the date peacock start streaming on July the 15.
There several news sites reported that casting call for the Battlesstar Galactica theater movie has already been publish.
Anything need to be sign, would had been done with in a month of the first announcement.
It's probably true they are on a filming hold cause of covid19 for both the movie and series.

It stated in the news report that the new series isn't a reboot or a remake and reported that it will take place in the 2004-2009 battlestar galactica series universe. Which means it will take place on another ship that survived the cylon attack. I'm only guessing what type of colonial ship it will be.
In regardless when it start streaming. They made the announcement the same day when they announced the peacock tv streaming service and it would premier the date that peacock tv start streaming.
Which made me think that the Battlestar Galactica Theater movie sets had already been built. They either haven't started filming yet or no longer have any use of those sets for the movies and are using those sets for the new streaming series.
There's probably a delay of the series premier cause of covid 19 and a filming hold for both the movie and series.
By the way, I'm the one that reported the new star trek series was going be made, months before it was announce. I've gotten that from those whom where in talk with them. Of course no one believe me at the time. Go check that post, y'all probably have it somewhere.

Remember when Voyager got Copied by the Demon class silver blood planet?

The Cylon God was creating Myth.

There was no invasion, no genocide.

It wanted a genesis myth, that could sprout a civilization.

Which is how we can have the same characters on a different Battlestar, becuase EVERYONE is a Cylon.

That's not what the quote says. The exact wording is: "we’ll explore a new story within the mythology while staying true to the spirit of Battlestar."
Combined with the assertion that it's not a "remake", I'm taking this to mean it's not a retelling of the story (i.e. not the ragtag fleet premise) but a new one of some kind set somewhere within the mythology of the franchise, but dealing with the same core themes. That could be literally anything from "a less boring version of Caprica" to: "a direct sequel taking place in our future, because all this has happened before..." or "the fall of Kobol", or anything in-between. There's nowhere near enough information to be more specific than that.

Interesting concept - I like that! It's certainly in keeping with the mythology of ancient gods that wish to be adored and admired by forcibly establishing their own lore.
