A friend of mine asked me to come up with a Starship and look for this new race called the Kiilax Here is the starship: J'daa-Class Starcruiser: Direct Links: https://i.postimg.cc/4yKTZg9z/Exploration-00.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/N0fX4JX3/Kriilax-J-daa-Class-Starship-00a.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/85fjKqz0/Kriilax-J-daa-Class-Starship-00.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/2SdJv6dH/Concept-Kiiilax-Starship-00.jpg
Well, this is unusual - and definitely Atolm! The coloured no-background image immediately brought to mind a Rodney Matthews creature - I can't find the specific one, but this one is very close. The non-coloured version reminds me of a treehouse I like it! Very distinctive, as always.
Nice job! It somewhat reminds me of that critter in the Mos Easley cantina (not sure of its ‘official’ SW name, sorry). But that’s crossing universes, lol.. Cheers, -CM-
lol..Thanks bro! Thank mate. Here is what the species looks like: Direct Link: https://i.postimg.cc/sDCZXLbs/Kriilax-Captain-00.jpg
Loving the style, have you already experimented with other ships? Did you have a "seed" from which you worked to settle upon a certain style?
Cool design and the alien looks like that supposed alien skeleton out of Russia or Ukraine few years back
Nope... I just drew her up. I didn't skech anything for her. Had the idea, then laid it out. thanks! you might like this article: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/scie...african-lake-turns-animals-into-stone-445359/
Nifty... something like a civilized squid, perhaps? Lol. It was the Ithorian that the ship design reminded me of, had to look it up. Cheers, -CM-
Very nice uniform for the Kriilax captain! Is that a mask s/he's wearing, or their actual face? It has a tribal, carved wood look to it
Thanks Sorry to disappoint...lol but the species is not a non-humanoid race. This doesn't mean that they could not get a non symmetrical design down the road...it is afterall, only one ship class... lol I do not see them as Cephalopod offshoots, but thanks! Ithorians, the "hammerheads" yeah I can see how their heads could look like this ship. Thanks! Thanks! No mask...that is how they look. As they get older they become more "pleated" and ridged. They live only to around 65-70 yrs old. Some rare ones can live to 95, but after that they begin to calcify, effectively becoming mummies.
Whoa, this looks massive! Very cool design. Love the unusual shapes. Knowing that you're often inspired by everyday objects for your designs, I'm wondering whether the inspiration for this ship by any chance could have been some sort of coat hook?
Thank you. Believe it or not...it was Land. Land masses and forms...like a Mesa in the Arizona Desert. I wanted the ship to evoke some kind of "vastness" but not being too obtuse. Thanks!
^ Fascinating bridge concept! With the centralized orientation I'm reminded of the bridge layout as seen on the Romulan bird-of-prey in the original series. I wonder, though, with that 360° holographic projector in the middle, would there still be the need for a traditional main view screen?
Yeah, the projector is mainly used for situations (like the "pool table") And the Viewer is for Visual Contact an similar things Here are the sketches to the Bridge, and some Alpha-Numerics: Direct Link: https://i.postimg.cc/G3xCP2z8/Concept-Kiiilax-Starship-Bridge-00.jpg
Shoots, just make the Main Viewscreen a big honking window, and you’d have the best of both worlds. Cheers, -CM-
