Glad ya'll like it True, but it's more about the feel of pulling a trigger when you shoot it. I've shot many guns and a button just wouldn't feel right. It's like how piano keyboards have weighted keys, because they way you play is effected otherwise. Same with the handle shape too. Some people like to go crazy on scifi gun handles, but in reality, it's just about what feels most comfortable in your hand. Only so many shapes are. That's my logic behind the design anyway.
Nothing new today, just a more refined concept of the USS Seeker: I basically just tweeked the proportions to look a little better. Here is a comparison so you can see the difference: As for the class name, I'm thinking Extant class, but I'm not 100% sure on that yet
Oh boy! It's been years since I've been on here, but I finally have some new stuff. I've always been thinking about my redesigned Trek-verse, but not had much time to actually do anything with my ideas. Again, most of what I dump here are ideas. The first era I plan on updating is the TOS era, modernizing the originals as well as merging the Disco-verse designs a little better. I'll be doing a few originals for each era as well of course. I seem to fall into 3 phases. 1: Concepts via doodling, 2: Fleshing out a design (blocking it in using Blender, mainly to make sure the shapes and lighting works), and 3: Actually modeling the dumb thing. Right now most my ideas are in phase 1, and I'm on phase 2 for some TOS designs. Enough rambling! Here are a few concepts Science ship (25th century): Battlecruiser (25th century): Possible Galaxy class redesign (not a refit dammit! No refits, only redesigns!) Sorry, everyone on Facebook was assuming it was a refit lol I'd love to hear thoughts or suggestions!
I really like your style (the look of pencil work etc.). Your Discovery redesign is a favourite (I've seen it on Deviant Art, I believe?), and I like the unusual layout of the 25th century battlecruiser - to my eyes, it has a Klingon look to it (it's the curved down nacelles, I think). Can't wait to see more
That is from my previous attempt at a Connie reboot BTW. I'll get back to that soon Glad you like them! It is reminiscent of Klingon design, I've always loved the look of the Klingon battlecruiser. And I actually have a new version of Discovery I'm working on right now Thank you sir! I think I fixed all the links. Dropbox keeps changing things and they keep getting broken, so I switched to Imgur
I forgot to post this one here! So many places to post. Scifi-meshes, deviantArt, Facebook, Instagram..... I started blocking the Saladin concept in Blender. I'll put the old drawing here too for reference (I obviously changed quite a bit): And the new: Someone on Scifi-meshes suggested a bump map for the grids since I was too lazy to do them. Not a bad idea for this concept stage, I'll probably do that from now on.
I see a lot of my own Hayden in that science ship's side profile. I dig it a lot! Less sold on the battlecruiser, but that's just personal preference :-)
Alright, here is my new and improved Crossfield concept. This time I wanted to be more faithful to the overall shape from the show than my first concept. I'm still on the fence with adding the third impulse engine. Though if anything I think would look better with a single engine on the saucer as opposed to 2 at the back of the engineering hull... Lastly, what TOS/Discovery ships are your favorite? I'm looking for ideas of what to do next
Woah... I just now saw that all the links in my Hayden thread are as dead as Data... Here's a side profile I grabbed directly from SketchUp:
I do like the shapes there. And it does have a similar silhouette from the side Thank you! I'll have to redo those old ones sometime. Lol I'm glad it worked
I actually did decide to remove the secondary hull engines, and it looks so much better! I also updated the previous images to reflect the change
