I do like GB3 is trying to do something different with the story. I thought one of the things that didn't do 2016 any favors that it essentially followed all the same beats as the original which is a tough act to follow.

(Note: This was originally posted in the Ghostbusters 2016 thread, but more properly belongs here and hopefully will focus talk on this movie more than the other.)

There's two more trailers for Afterlife on the way, and the conclusion of the IDW Ghostbusters: Year One comic (which focuses on Egon) originally meant for April 22nd has been rescheduled for July 1st. That, plus the recent slew of GB YouTube channel videos and the coming cast reunion on Josh Gad's show (now slightly delayed, along with the rest of Ghostbusters Day, because of obvious current events), and I have to wonder - are they about to move Afterlife back to a 2020 release date? Or even surprise us all with a VOD on the originally planned release date?

Oh, damn, I didn't know the cast is going to reunite for Josh Gad's show. I've really enjoyed his reunion shows so far, especially the one for the Lord of the Rings, so that's definitely going to be a must watch.

That does seem like a pretty big marketing push for something that doesn't come out until March.

July 1st? I kind of doubt that most theatres would be ready and able to open by that time. There's likely going to be a push to drive-ins, but then some areas don't have drive-ins at all. My city hasn't had one since the late 80's, and there aren't any at all in the Northern part of Ontario.

Some theatres (like one near me) have gotten clever and makeshift converted themselves into a drive-in by setting up a digital projector in the parking lot outside the biggest wall of their building. Order/pick up your refreshments at the box office, get audio over your FM car radio. Might want to see if any theatre in your area's doing that.

I'm pretty sure this is from the 2014 blu-ray release. I'm almost positive I've seen it before. Am I mistaken?

That's a nifty idea. We only have two theaters here. One is inside a mall, so would be a no-go, and the other is a multiplex with its own building. Smaller towns with only small strip-mall style theaters would be at a disadvantage though. But I guess one other option would be to temporarily convert city parks into outdoor theaters, or use outdoor amphitheaters normally used for concerts.

I hadn't seen it before so I enjoyed it.

Considering Aykroyd's reference to "Britney" towards the end, I figured this was a bit on the older side.

I watched it earlier. It was a lot fun! I was pleasantly surprised to see how jovial Bill Murray was about talking about his experiences with the films (and Harold Ramis, too). I love that he improvised the piano bit.

Great to see everyone has the same fondness for these films as we do.

I thought the same! She looks practically the same. She must have the same elixir Annie Potts has. ;)
