Sets can be anything from "designed to take up/put down every week" to "would destroy big chunks of it to try and take it down." Depends entirely on intent in the design/build phase, including whether the production company is prepared to lease the space exclusively for as long as the series lasts and the complexity of the set (DS9's Promenade would never have been feasable as a strike-and-rebuild set for size alone.)
So I just opened my YouTube feed and there was a handful of random Jolene Blalock videos near the top. Weird coincidence.
Section31 was supposed to be the next series in production but there has been no news of that and now this. Does this mean S31 is canceled or just delayed? I won’t shed any tears if they give up on that series. I prefer the Pike series.
Incidentally, people seem to be missing the big question - are they going to be able to go a whole ongoing series without giving "Number One" an actual name?
It was supposed to start filming this month (per a news article in January), but I'm assuming that's been delayed, along with everything else in the world. They should have had most of their preproduction done by early March (and plenty of time since to do anything else they could from home). They gave her a name in Discovery and confirmed in the Short Treks. She doesn't have a first name yet, but neither did Sulu or Uhura for the entire run of their show.
according to the TrekMovie article it seems to be Henry Alonso Myers ( from “The Magicians”) with help from Goldsman.
S31 was supposed to start filming this month at CBS Stages Canada. It was mentioned to be delayed due to COVID-19. The government of Ontario recently announced the economy is finally, slowly, starting to re-open. So hopefully shooting isn't too much delayed. https://www.space.com/star-trek-section-31-discovery-filming-schedules.html
One thing is for certain: it will be the awesomest Trek production ever, and also the worst television production in the history of mankind. Simultaneously.
The intention was to not move forward with it until after the third season. I figure they want to focus on pushing one series at a time. Strange New Worlds is up this promotion cycle. I think they announced it now to shift people's focus away from "When will Discovery Season 3 be out?!" I'd say it worked. I want at least one season of Section 31. People who I've historically disagreed with are so against its very existence that I want it to be made for that reason alone. But I also really like DS9 and DSC's Section 31 episodes, so I legitimately wouldn't mind more of those. But there's absolutely no way in Hell I want to talk about the series on TrekBBS (I'll stick to Discovery, Picard, and SNW when I'm here). I'll find somewhere else when it comes to talking about S31. I like this board and I want it to stay that way.
52 Weeks of Star Trek: 1-10: Picard 11-20: Lower Decks 21-30: Section 31 31-40: Strange New Worlds 41-50: Discovery 51-52: Short Treks (Daily!) This is what I want.
Yes, this is just the All Access schedule. It doesn't include Prodigy on Nick, the television movies on CBS proper, Starfleet Academy on the CW, the Ceti Alpha miniseries on Hulu, the Star Wars vs. Star Trek special on Disney+, the adult-oriented Risa series on HBO Max...
