I got pretty mopey after the LNP won here and then the Tories in the UK, but got past it. Kinda. I'm just angry now. @Miss Chicken is this your crazy friend you've mentioned before? She sounds like someone to emotionally distance as well as social distance.
Quite often think to myself - I'm glad I'm not an American. Watching what is happening there is sad. Also glad to be in Melbourne. Maybe cold, but I'm keeping nice and warm.
I love Melbourne. Today is the first full on winter day I think. Have so enjoyed the autumn, sunny and warm and bright blue after a summer of smoke. Been beautiful even if I could only go for walks in my neighbourhood.
Yes, it is the same friend, we have known each other for 35 years and it is only in about the last 10 years or so she has become so negative that it is bad enough to annoy me. In the past my friend has been supportive especially when my father died and also when I had trouble with one of my sisters who was quite toxic. I just don’t know how to deal with my friend phoning up every second day wanting to talk for an hour or two. It is OK if I can steer the talk away from Covid-19 and isolation.
Yesterday was pretty cold. Looked outside earlier. Rather grey and wet. Not going anywhere today. I have a few layers on to keep me warm. I do enjoy living in Melbourne.
Adelaide had it's coldest April day in 12 years on Thursday. so that would have been 2008 where there was also a stinking hot March with 2 weeks of day time temps over 35 (might have even been 40) and barely dropping below 30 at night. mum has been getting her winter vegetable garden ready but it lead to a disagreement with the dog who wanted to bury her bones there.
At least they stopped playing the four seasons as hold music. Though of course that music is totally destroyed for me now anyway. Whatever this current thing they are playing isn't too bad actually. The first time.
BC (Before Corona) it was much easier to go into the office rather than put up with that shit. Now, I'm not sure. I have to go in tomorrow. Pray for me. Temperature has dropped here in SEQld, but the days are sunny except for today.
yeah going in was always a better option. Less aggravating. People there knew much more than the phone folk. But i wouldn't want to sit there for an hour these days. Good luck!
The anti-lockdown protesters can get stuffed. If they want to get this thing and die, good for them. But they have absolutely no right whatsoever to screw things up for everyone else. And stuff the anti-vaxxer rugby league players, too. Imbeciles.
I want to know who is manipulating these people to do this and why. I guess we'll never know. https://7news.com.au/lifestyle/heal...vHxbDVYmU65Kq78h2Bo7y8xniH4ctNnVwpJNLXUxReGF4 They were punching cops too. on 9 news they mentioned one had broken ribs.
It's a sweet, sweet mix of Reclaim Australia types and 5G conspiracy nutbags. There's a certain bunch that love hanging out on the steps of Parliament with these signs and they've been around for years (from today):
