At the grocery store, it hasn't dawned on people that as long as people are lava, they can't just stand around in the middle of the aisle looking at their phone for two minutes.

Also, all these ads on Words With Friends are starting to tick me off. All these little games where you move around pins and it releases lava or blocks potion or something. And they always show you the losing choices in the ad. So every time you play a word, it's like a cartoon fish torture video.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope she only has the mild version of the illness, and is able to recover quickly.

When out sampling a little river on Thursday I realized that animals, too, must get pretty frustrated at times: I came upon the stump of a tree that a beaver had almost gnawed through. And about 10 mins before he'd have been finished and the tree would have fallen, some human cut it down with a chainsaw and transported it away. 1 month worth of breakfast, lunch and supper lost for the poor beaver :(
At my town, the local beaver gnaws at trees, too, and occasionally they have to be felled for security reasons. But our town gardeners only remove the trunk and leave the branches at the bank of the stream for the beaver to eat them.

Beavers don't eat the wood. They eat the bark and leaves off the tree but don't eat the wood. They might chew through small trees and branches to make a damn or a den but they don't literally EAT the tree.

yep, but they don't eat the bark from the stem of an old tree. Just the juicy one from the twigs and smaller branches. And they store the branches and twigs under water (no oxigen = no rotting) for the winter.

My grandmother passed away on SAT. :wah: The frustrating thing is we cannot attend the funeral on THU because of everything going on. :sigh:

I am so sorry, Taylirious :( Would it perhaps be possible for one of the few attending relatives to film the ceremony for those who aren't permitted to attend? That'd be only a small comfort but it'd be better than nothing.

    just had a major argh-moment:
session 6 of my root canal filling in a wisdom tooth. Hopefully the last one. Dentist takes an x-ray to see if filling goes all the way down and the root is no longer inflamed. And promptly discovers that the canine on the same side does now have an inflamed root tip and needs a root filling.:brickwall:
Next time I'll ask for a quantity rebate.

help! I'm caught in a Murphy-onic Field again!
After returning fom the dentist on Thursday I managed to dislocate something in my knee. It snapped back on Friday but still hurts. Yesterday, my washing machine started to leak. Last night the wisdom tooth started to hurt again (but it's better now). It's on probation: if it doesn't calm down it has to get pulled.
As for today: I think I'll go back to bed now and stay there till Monday. It's propably the safest place.
I really wish Murphy's Law would move to someone else. Trump, for example. :p

When I got the root canal treatment, it was quite an ordeal, not particularly painful at the time, but after the event.
My dentist told me that due to the amount of work done and resulting trauma, it could take "a few days" to be pain free, even with painkillers.
    She was right :sigh:
But eventually it was pain free and ok.
Can't help with your washing machine, your knee or Trump, unfortunately.

thanks :) the knee is much better already. I had bandaged it all weekend and that apparently did the trick.
Yay! Your wishing worked :) She sent me a text message saying she's pretty much ok again and only has a bad headcold left. It seems she got only a very mild infection.

There's a bird that seems to have nested in the vicinity of the tree outside my spare bedroom window. I wouldn't even care except that its activities make banging noises against the window at 7AM. I can go scare it off and it just comes back in five minutes.

How do you make a bird move on to somewhere else?
