Well, to be fair, she could return to the 23rd century in the season finale as well. I wouldn't put it past her to steal the Red Angel suit even at the end of the season if it took her that long to decide she didn't like it in the future.
One of the execs said a couple months ago that the show would be ready for airing in May. That might be where that came from. But being ready by then doesn't mean it will air then.

Sounds like CBS could possibly be planning on releasing at least pat of DISCOVERY Season 3 right after the end of PICARD. Maybe They will split the season again. Also, now that DISCOVERY has wrapped we should start to see inklings of the SECTION-31 show ramping up.
I feel like there's going to be a gap. If this season of DSC was going to premiere right after PIC's finishes, I think they probably would've announced it by now.

Saw that as well and congrats her and her family!! Curious if they'll somehow work it into the show or as said they'll work around it. Frame her different, have her in looser fitting clothes, etc. Or if timing lines up she'll have delivered before they start the next season.
According to some sources, Discovery's season 4 and 5 will consist of 10 episodes each and will be filmed back to back later this year, after someone's pregnancy. I noticed that one of the Trek conventions in April has SMG as a panel guest. Whilst I’m assuming these will now be cancelled, I would assume that they were going to reveal a release date for S3 and perhaps a new trailer? I doubt they’ll be able to film S4 or S5 this year. A lot of shows and movies have had to cease production due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I don’t think we will see S4 till 2022 at this stage. I think they’ll end up cancelling the S31 show outright. There’s been so many delays and fan enthusiasm isn’t great. They could add Tyler and Georgiou as S31 operatives in the Pike series. Or just keep Georgiou on DSC.
The plan was changed to film Discovery, Section 31, Enterprise, Starfleet Academy* and a full run of Short Treks at the same time, in one massive $1B production set-up across two studios, pooling from the same 1000+ member production team. It means that production costs would be significantly amortised, so a $1B production budget would eventually be amortised and tax credited down to around $700M. * I've not personally confirmed this series exists, but I've seen it said pre-production was starting in August. The showrunners are Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.

Unless there is an announcement about Discovery or Lower Decks soon I will cancel my CBS AA subscription. With Picard over there is nothing there that I like (other than old Trek episodes).
It occurs to me that one of the big roadblocks to Discovery's release could be the score. We know that the show's episode music is regularly recorded only weeks before it reaches the air. That would seem pretty impossible to do now, no? Anyone have insight here?
I guess they could recycle music from the first two seasons and Picard. If that's the only roadblock. Or -- and this is tricky but doable -- each musician could record themselves with their instrument, email their audio files, and then an editor can line up all the different audio files in synchronization and create the illusion that all the musicians were there at the same time. As long as the musicians operate somewhere sound-proof, they're all set. If not, and a car that's driving by is picked up -- for instance -- they could do multiple takes of the same music they recorded. So if a car drove by or there was some other noise during a particular moment, the editor could delete that section of the audio file and replace it with the same section from another audio file. Add in an audio transition so it doesn't sound like an abrupt switch in clips and no one will notice the difference. You can also get rid of room tone (if necessary) by using a high-pass setting to cut off any noise below a certain frequency. The only problem there is that you get rid of some portion of the instrument sound if it's a deep, low-pitched instrument.
I reckon we’ll get the first half of Season 3 from late next month, if they’re splitting The Good Fight Season 4 up into two halves.
This is one of the easier things they can “cover up”. Jeff Russo and his core team can do everything themselves with computers, and most people won’t be able to tell the difference.
