Really? Supermarkets are probably the best place in the UK. The big Asda near me has an amazing selection of whisky, stuff I didn't even knew existed.

It's a legacy of Prohibition. Regulation of alcohol distribution went back to the states, and there was a lot of what they call "regulatory capture." The liquor stores pay more attention to keeping the system the way it is, and they've outlobbied the supermarkets so far. In theory the New York wineries could weigh in in favor of the supermarkets and end this in my state, but they're worried about being locked out of shelf space in the supermarkets, which are more likely to service the high-volume producers. (I think they're wrong; my supermarket makes a point of bringing in beers from the local breweries, and I don't see why wine would be any different.)

Could be worse. In some states wine and spirit sales are a state monopoly.

Simply haven't felt compelled to. Shaving is something I have to maintain on a regular basis since I work in retail and we're required to look presentable. Despite being in a business that has to stay open during this crisis (grocery store) I've been temporarily moved to the overnight shift. Which means no customers, and everyone else has a beard, so I'm growing one in to fit in.

Incidentally, the second thing I'm going to do after this crisis has passed is put on deodorant.

I am trying so hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel... and I just can't. Italy continues to get worse, Spain is catching up, and New York is completely apocalyptic... How do I stay positive... or even just sane...

It is obviously still approaching it's peak, but I will concede that it's difficult to remain positive while we are still on this upward curve with no end currently in sight. It simply has to get better at some point.

    I hope they turn back
    On the economy.
The loss of funds, and all that goes with that lose, businesses, complete livelihoods is going to prove more detrimental than than the virus itself. :(
I'm going the get a new washing machine, have a guy in to fix my blinds and get new flooring put in
And buy my$0.98 cent oil pastel.
(Up-dated my end of virus list)

China's improving. That proves there is light at the end of the tunnel, distant though it may be.

China improved already actually, and now seems to be preparing for their second wave. They've shut down movie theaters out of nowhere today.

I will probably take 1-2 days off from work and schedule some much needed self-care:
    - Back to the gym (my home workouts and jogs in the park are... acceptable... for now, but not the same)
    - Haircut
    - Enjoy a few meals inside of restaurants
    - See a movie or a broadway show
    - Schedule time to see friends
    - Start planning a trip

I'm guessing that going to Times Square and kissing a random nurse is no longer a good idea.

I know the feeling. My life hasn't changed much either. Except I used to get in my wheelchair and travel through my neighborhood. Now, I just get in my wheelchair and either sit on my front porch or roam my back yard.

I am sorry. I wish I had some magic words to say. For me all I can do is one day at a time. If I look too far ahead that is when it really gets to me. I miss my mom a lot and I keep thinking of when I get to see her again. Talking to her helps. I hope you have someone to talk to and are not alone! Take Care!
