He never reached out to Data in all those years too. Yet still named a synthetic cat Spot 2?

The woman whom Soji and Dahj was modeled after...

Surprise me. Personally some new models like an Odysee Class ship, but I don't mind seeing good ol' Sovereign Enterprise-E either ;)

Just so you know...the poll for this thread was disabled and ended on Tuesday. The OP or a Mod might want to go in and restart it.

    Odd episode.

Some things definitely worked, some definitely not. The direction was awful. Story-wise...I'm not sure. Nothing felt like it had time to breathe. Everything just happened and the pieces were all moved into place. It's like the story was written by checklist instead of, you know, a need for narrative.

4 out of 10. Looks like PIC is just another DSC. Capable of being good here and there, but overall just a deeply unsatisfying experience--at least on an episodic level. But DSC S1 and S2 didn't improve for me upon binge rewatch, so I don't know.

    Disappointing.

Wow. All of the build up, all of the good work they've done in this series, and they really are just going to throw it all away on the stupid cliches.

And the thing is, the character writing isn't terrible. There are some great character moments. Picard, Raffi, Rios, Jurati. Absolute gold. But the plot just rolls over and dies. Then gets back up and kicks it's own corpse a time or two. They aren't even trying. Just boiler plate cliche crap. This episode has completely crushed my mojo for this series.

Maybe the finale has something more profound, or at least novel to present. If nothing else Patrick Stewart remains delightfully watchable. But this episode really left a sour taste in my mouth overall. Going to have to grapple with that one through this last week.

This definitely wasn't one of my favorite episodes. I noticed a pronounced drop in storytelling quality from last week, and on top of that the Seven scenes just felt very rushed as if they were just to acknowledge she was going to play a role in the season finale and then quickly leave her behind until next week.

It does seem odd that the show started with sympathy for the Romulans, only to now show that crews of 218 Romulan warbirds will willingly commit genocide on the orders of a Zhat Vash group that doesn't even officially exist. What happened to their empire being irreparably damaged by the destruction of their homeworld? How can Raffi's captain friend even joke about them being in a 250 year bad mood after what happened to them?

I'm almost expecting that FNN reporter to show up in the last episode as Picard is dying from a Romulan orbital bombardment asking, "Why did you want to save Romulans again?"

Penultimate episode of the season and we get that... just more buildup and filler. Sorry, not a fan of this episode at all.

The Borg Cube scene on the planet was hackier than hell. "Okay, here's some XBs, Seven and the Romulan Jedi are good, nothing to see here, move along."

After watching the episode (I always skip the spoliery credits) I looked up who directed it.

Ohhhh. It all makes sense now.

    Voted. I gave it a 7.

Can't sleep. Not that it matters, since I'm doing everything from home and am not going anywhere tomorrow.

I actually thought it was the weakest of the season.......I know it's setting the stage but, just kinda meh. And the mind meld.........have we ever had anything like that?

That was actually the one thing that I found ridiculous... an android performing a mind meld.

That implies she has some kind of telepathic ability, but androids have never been shown to have telepathy.
