The Admiral "F***ing" Clancy Appreciation Thread

@Terok Nor is the one who came up with the nickname, so I have to give credit where credit's due.

But Admiral Fucking Clancy is the fucking bomb!

She's also the ultimate pragmatist. She'll do anything as long as she thinks it makes sense to. Otherwise, no dice.

 

To the potty mouthed Admiral, I have to say:

 

Having just rewatched THE HUNGER last week or so, I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that she's the hot redhead who has sex with David Bowie in the first scene of that movie.

She's certainly not very professional.

 

That's how you know she's not a fake. The less calibrated someone's responses are, the more likely I am to believe them.

Every time I've ever had to carefully calibrate a response, my thought process has always been, "How do I say what I really want to say without actually saying it?" It's always playing the political game.

 

She's faker than an altered Cardassian optolythic data rod!

 

I don't agree. But I do think, unfortunately, she's let Oh string her along for a long time. She doesn't know who or what Oh really is.

I didn't really like her first f-bomb, but when she's dropped the STFU in episode 8, it was better. Maybe if they wrote Clancy in episode 2 dropping tons of fucks, it would have worked straight out the gate.

She's more upfront about her dislike for Picard than Admiral Nechayev.

Although I also think the reason Nechayev never threw a F-bomb at Picard was because TNG was a syndicated series aired on free TV with a PG rating...

I don't see Nechayev that way. She wants to be the Admiral who gets things done and doesn't appreciate Picard's gate-keeping. Especially when he's only a Captain. She probably thinks he's out of line whenever he stands up to her. Which is why she gave him a blunt order about the Borg in "Descent" about what to do the next time he had a similar opportunity to destroy the Borg. To which he very tersely said, "Yes, sir."

Swearing is too informal for her. She wants to do things by the book. She and Picard just don't agree about the book. That's why they were butting heads.

 

I thought her first F-Bomb while unnecessary was fine. Seemed like overkill in episode 8.

 

You want an apology?! - I want a squadron!! - Sending a squadron.

 

What a loathsome character. I hope Commodore Sunglasses kills her.
