So I guess the line now is:

Heston: "Get your stinking hands off me...you damn dirty Liberal!" ;)

Is anyone else starting to get worried that Sir Patrick might come down with COVID-19?

Or, more broadly - are they going to halt production of new Star Trek for awhile until all of this blows over?

Depends on if someone in the cast or crew becomes positive I guess.

Everybody is hoping it won't be them, but as a long time hospital employee, I know it's only a matter of time as to When, not IF.

But, Sir Patrick is pretty healthy, if he does get it, my guess would be he'll do ok.

This virus makes everybody ill, but it's the folks with underlying health issues that it effects the most.
It especially exacerbates any lung/breathing issues one might have.

That depends. Is he currently in the US or a country with a functioning health system?

Can we not with the politics here? Am in the US and have no concerns with the health care resources.

Certainly concerned for all older folks. I don't know the production schedule, but a delay would not surprise me. A LOT of things are going to be delayed.

He's a multimillionaire. If he's in the US and he gets sick, the quality of his care will be at least as good as anywhere else.

Welll ... we should all be a little worried.
If this thing goes full blown out of control over the next 2 or 3 weeks, there's gonna be a lot of scrambling by hospitals and clinics to accommodate the influx of patients.

Honestly, I don't think the current Folks at the Federal level (who should have been preparing us for something like this rather than taking everything apart) have a clue.

They've pretty much dismantled our Federal medical emergency response groups with all the budget cuts and the guy in the Oval Office thinks his hunches are gonna solve the problem.

I see all the precautions being taken by the state I'm in, I see quarantines being put in place, and I see the usual panic by the populous. I see my agency sending out masks and hand sanitizer and reinforcing use of appropriate hand washing techniques. Local clinics are reaching out and providing education by phone.

I'm more concerned about the panic than I am about the actual illness.

I don't know what else is to be done?:shrug::shrug:

Not much at our level, except follow all the prescribed precautions.

Problem is, what They are doing now, should have begun back when it became obvious from the huge threat in China that it was easily spread.
    Oh well.
Fingers crossed it doesn't effect those we love and care about.

I've figured everything I like is going to be delayed 3-6 months. JL, make it so!

The Chinese still aren't being honest about the real death toll.

When it finally comes out it the official figures will need another zero on the end at the very least, maybe even two before it all calms down.

There is nothing you can do really, it is multi vector which means it is very easy to spread regardless of masks or gloves, a person can carry and spread it for up to 3 weeks without showing symptoms themselves.

Most will only experience mild symptoms but you should keep an eye on any elderly relatives or those with existing heart or lung conditions.

Will be interesting to see if the Chinese government finally owns up to where it really originated.

Could we please not talk about this here, especially the stuff about China?

Leave the theories to the TNZ.

Have you ever wondered if Geordi has any guilt issues over the manner of Data's death? He's the one who opened the airlock for Data to make his fateful journey to the Scimitar. He had to know that one of them wasn't coming back.
