I gave it a 9.. Fan service and all, but I could watch a whole season with each episode having Picard visiting the Rikers for dinner. Can we make this spin off? "Dinner at Riker's"? with JL bringing friends over? I Want one with Guinan as special guest. Make it so!!! I would give it a 10 but I got REALLY annoyed with Hugh's death. Why? why? and why? I hope they won't kill 7 next. I still think the weakest part of the show is that moron-Romulan-sister-spy. She is so cliche, she is ruining every damn scene she is on. Aw Aggie.. that OH character messed with her poor little mind..
Spoiler They killed Green Arrow in the crossover episode of Supergirl. The character was a supernatural apparition for the rest of the crossover and series.
Lower Decks happens in 2380, right? Opening of the Picard S2 premiere: Seven of Nine: Some night, huh? Picard: On this very night, twenty years ago, along this same stretch of space in a dense nebula just like this. I saw the worst accident I ever seen...
I mean, she's working with Romulan spies ready, willing, and able to kill Federation citizens in an "overt act of war" (her words). The same spies who just murdered a half-dozen people to get a Federation citizen to talk (then murdered him as soon as they were able). She also pressured Jurati into killing at least two people (although I no longer blame Oh for Jurati's clearly unhinged psychotic behavior). Spock was a bit of a utilitarian, and maybe you can define Oh that way (working with the Zhat Vash to save humanoidity from AIs), but she's way over the line. And if she's willing to do what she's been seen doing, then a little Spock-level mindplay is not below her sensibilities.
Yeah, I'll treat the cartoons as canon when the live-action shows start referencing obscure stuff like the Kzinti.
I don't think it's outright mind control, otherwise Oh would just mind**** Picard after inviting him to her office. Picard probably would have said what he said in 'A Matter of Time': Well, you know, Commodore, perhaps I don't give a **** about your images, because your images is my future and as far as I'm concerned, it hasn't been written yet. Picard's a lot harder to break, the guy's been through assimilation, Madred, and in fact dealt with a messy meld with Sarek
Indeed. But shouldn't Oh have noticed, during the mind meld, that Jurati was aready on the train to Crazytown? I mean, even Raffi high on drugs seems like a better choice for assassin recruitment...
Episode 8 Trailer Spoiler Looks like we're finally seeing those winged ships that were approaching Mars in the earliest trailers TAS is canon according to CBS. DS9 also referenced a bunch of things from TAS, and TOS-R used a ship design from it.
It is possible to get rid of the hate-watching vids from your suggested videos on YouTube. It's kind of like weeding a garden - whenever a "Here's everything that SUCKS about _____ / terrible SJW propaganda" comes up in your feed, there's a drop down option under the three dots to the right of each video that comes up: "- Don't Recommend Channel." Blessed option! It took a few months of weeding, but now when I scroll down through my feed, by far, most of it is stuff I am interested in... as if we need a steady stream of videos telling us what sucks. Most people are perceptive enough to find out what sucks about the world without needing to watch a YouTube video about it. Don't forget to smash that like and subscribe button.
I really liked the Reunion with Will Riker&Deannna Troi and their Daughter Kestra was fantastic in this episode. I liked the scenes with Kestra and Soji telling her stories about Data. I liked Deanna called out Picard for his behavior about how he treated Soji that he needed open up to Soji to get herto trust him.I'm sorry was Hugh was killed by Rizzo.I was kind of expected it to happen after seeing the preview. This is my favoriote show since Remembrance.
Based on that trailer and I wonder if they are going to replace Hugh with 7 as someone who speaks for the XBs. That would make Hugh's death mean something, since I think that could be a great story and I thought that was what we were going for when Jeri Ryan was brought back to play 7 again (And also the context of the series leading up to Episode 5).

I don’t agree but I see your point of view. Picard and seven bears too little resemblance to The TNG/VOY versions to be the same characters. TNG Spock wasn’t wildly different to TOS Spock that he was unrecognisable and the character was a 100 years older. If Picard and seven do deserve to be so different then STP hasn’t done a good enough job of explaining it or not to my liking 7/10 rating is more than I would give it but is proportionate. I’ve only seen a few episodes of any Star Trek series I would give a 10/10, and not on any Kurtzman “Star Trek” series
I feel like Riker being on 'active reserve' is going to be important later. They didn't retire him completely for a resason.
Lucky you that your only exposure to that is through youtube. My hardcore alt-right brother can't even talk about Dr. Who without saying "liberal agenda" and he refuses to watch Discovery (he didn't say why, but I knew it was because of Burnham and Stamets and Culber). I thought he'd be smarter than that as he's a medical doctor, but apparently not. I don't know what he thinks of Picard because after Thanksgiving where he conducted a vicious hazing incident against me while I was trapped in a car, even when I said multiple times my chest hurt, I told my father that I would never again attend any further events where he and my mother that supports him were present.
I'll watch it after work, this is what I'll pretend he said, um I mean sang. Del Arco: Don't cry for me Star Trek fans! The truth is, Hugh never left you! All through his Borg days, his de-assimilation! Trek kept their promise, don't keep your distance!
