Visually I have issues with DSC but to the writers' credit they have tried to tie that series to TOS and ENT as often as they can. They've mentioned or shown people and things like Jonathan Archer, Enterprise NX-01, Christopher Pike, the Battle of Donatu V, Robert April and even made the Vulcans of this period more shady and potentially more troublesome, finding ways to tie their behavior to both TOS and ENT. They've even gone out of their way to not mention the Romulans even once since the Star Empire has spent the previous 96-97 years in isolation and unseen by the Federation. Sure, we haven't gotten any mentions nor appearances of Augment Klingons but to DSC's credit it's been pretty slavish to most 22nd and 23rd century canon.
Sir, I'm sorry, but your voice is carrying. I don't think you want to be discussing this subject in public.
The U.S.S. Archer in NEM is an Excelsior-class starship that routinely gets beaten up but its Captain always has inspiring stories to tell about trips they made into the wilderness.
Maybe we should put it to a vote so the mods can take this thread out behind the barn already. I move that Star Trek Picard IS Star Trek, and is not not Star Trek.
This "Not Star Trek" arguments are so boring. Why don't we enjoy it as it is, rather than complaining about the same thing over and over again. We have repeating the same arguments in every new "Star Trek" shows that coming to us. Are you not bored?
Nah, I think we're gonna keep this one to be the mega "I'm just here to bitch about the show" thread.
I actually remember when the word shit became available for basic cable programming because South Park did an entire episode with a ticker in the corner counting off how many times any of the character said the word "shit". The funny thing is after that episode aired, they still continue to bleep the word.
