When I am alone yes, with others, no. I remember thinking about the social aspect of eating in high school (yes, I was a weird nerd), and at that time I considered breakfast a solitary meal, lunch a meal to be shared with friends, and dinner a meal to be shared with family. I do recall that we'd occasionally have the TV on during dinnertime, but only if there was some special programming we were all interested in, or if it was a particularly rough time for the fam and we were all tired. At the moment my dinner time is also usually my screen time, but if I'm dining with friends, roommates, or dates, concurrent screentime is rare, maybe 10%?
In my eyes, the odd ones out are usually the interesting ones. Although I still have bad dreams about being the odd one out myself, occasionally.
I try to avoid it when I'm home. It leads to gluttony while watching entertainment. At work I eat in front of the computer usually while watching youtube.
yes guilty we eat while watching tv. though my husband eats and looks at his computer just as often. We do have a dinning room table, which we clear off all the junk and eat there when guests come and for the holidays
I don't have a TV And I eat at a dining table (or in bed). I like to listen to quiet music while eating, though. For example Telemann's 'Tafelmusik'
Honestly I’m not sure what else to do when I’m at home alone with no house or yard work to do and training done for the day but screen stuff.
In such cases I cook a nice dinner, lay out the good china and the silver cutlery, light a candle, put on my favourite record or CD or audiobook and have a lovely evening. And if I feel like it, I wear a pretty gown. If life hands you a lemon, you needn't neccessarily make lemonade - I turn it into chicken with lemon sauce, bacon-wrapped dates and turmeric rice
Tomorrow I'm planning to get myself some Sushi and eat it while watchin the latest Picard episode....
I generally don't like watching stuff on a tablet or a computer screen. Movies and TV should be BIG. A little screen just doesn't cut it. I want to shut out the outside world and be absolutely engulfed and absorbed in the experience. And a bowl of buttered popcorn adds to the experience. Kor
