But Constantine's description of the event that got Astra damned said it happened there in England, so I'm confused. It's odd -- they seem to be changing some details from from the NBC show's version, but then they replay the clip of Astra's damnation from the NBC pilot episode.

Maybe they were back in England for some reason when Astra was taken.

Come to think of it, I guess that flashback was with a younger John than in the other flashbacks, wasn't it? Because he had punk hair when he broke up with Natalie but I think he had more normal hair when Astra's father begged him for help. So I guess they could've raised Astra in NY and then come back.

Yeah, all of the stuff with punk John and Natalie was before everything else, other than them as kids. I'm pretty sure it was before Astra was born.

Well, this show seems to be psychic, because every time I mention liking something about it, it knows that its time to ruin it. Zari being an annoying Instagram "Influencer" type is fucking infuriating, the only good character introduced post season 1 (not counting Constantine, since he didn't come from Legends) and she's now literally the worst character.

It didn't help that this episode's "main" plot was absolutely pointless (and the encore wasn't even really a villain, just a rich prick). They should just cancel this show and bring back Constantine's if his plot is going to be the only thing worth watching. The show could have completely redeemed itself if Shitty Zari had gotten put in the guillotine and then "removed" from the show, but unfortunately that didn't happen.

But Zari is meant to be annoying. That's kind of the point of her arc and why we are getting hints that her original personality will reemerge.

Originally, she was a hunted to near extinction minority, raised in a concentration camp?

    Something like that.

Whosoever brings back the memories of that life... Is getting pushed down a well.

it's going to be Nate as he is dumber than a brick and one of the selfish idiots on the team. Is there a way we can get season 2 Nate back.

Courtney Ford was certainly having fun.

I take it DJ S’more Money is a takeoff on Marshmello? I was hoping somehow he was going to get hit with Heatwave’s gun, seemed it would be apt.

I had to look that up, and I'm surprised there actually is a performer in a mask like that. I figured it was just more random Legends silliness. It was set in the future, so I figured they were postulating some future fashion for performers to wear silly mascot heads. Turns out it's real. As usual, the real world is more farcical than any fiction.

I'd never heard of Marshmello either, but I am a Deadmau5 and Daft Punk fan, so I am aware of the whole thing with DJs wearing crazy masks.
Actually the main plot was far from pointless, it was a huge character development story for the new Zari, and it built a bit more towards her old memories coming back. Just because you don't like something doesn't make it pointless.
I'm curious how they are going to handle Zari once all of her old memories are back. Is the old Zari just going to come back, or is the new Zari just going to remember all of the stuff that happened to the original along with own memories?

I don't think they'd put this much work into establishing the new Zari and getting her accepted onto the team if they just planned to erase her.

After old zari has asserted herself, her parents are going to drag her into group therapy to reverse the change, which is effecting their bottom line.

You can't tell me that Zari wasn't subsidising her olds "retirement" just a smidge.

Sara's absence got me thinking. Now that Ollie got his doover, I hope they find a way to get Blackthorne on the show once or twice. In fact, I'd love to see a Quava adventure.

Caity Lotz did a great job with her first directing gig. We got some more great stuff with Constantine, and Gary and this time we added Ray to the mix. I loved Gary getting Constantine's house in his will. So will he actually be able to bring back Asta's mother?
The Genghis Kahn story was pretty fun, with the big shootout in the bar, and Kahn leading his men on scooters was pretty good. Scoots McGoots is a perfect name for the Scooter.
The big reveal that Charlie is one of the fates was pretty cool, and a nice way to tie her into Constantine's story. I'm curious if we'll end up with her sisters as out big bads at the end of the season rather than Astra.

The episode was a lot of fun, I liked the throwback to 1997 HK and in particular to the movies of ~1997 HK especially John Woo what with the dove in the slo-mo intro to Khan, the three-way standoff and Ava double fisting pistols. Maybe a dash of Ridley Scott’s Black Rain.

I was surprised to see Marie Antoinette is still in the hold.

Even on his deathbed Constantine can’t smoke a cigarette.

A rare appearance by steeled-up Nate was welcome.

I get that Charlie deposited pieces of the loom of fate on multiple Earths pre-crisis, but, post crisis, how is it a new development that the loom pieces are all on Earth Prime? In this version of reality, those loom pieces have been on Earth Prime for thousands of years.

If that had really been Genghis Khan, he probably would've been annoyed at hearing the Legends mispronounce his name. The "Gen-" is supposed to be pronounced as in "general" or "genesis"; it's a Westernized spelling of a name that's alternately transliterated as Jinggis or Chingiz or the like. Given that there are no English words I can think of that render "gen-" with a hard G, it's odd that we all somehow ended up mispronouncing "Genghis" that way. (Perhaps it was because of the alliteration or by unconscious analogy with words like "gang" or "gong.")

So I guess now Genghis knows how the guy who invented the GIF format feels...
