To early to start talking Emmy or Golden Globes award for Patrick Stewart?

I am not sure the show itself will be rewarded except maybe with a Hugo but I can see Stewart being up from some of the big prizes for the two big award shows when they happen. A best acting nod seems very possible to me if he continues to impress like he did in the first episode. I know they usually don't like to reward genre stuff but if they are going to make a exception for anyone it would be Patrick Stewart.

I've noticed, Emmys come either early or very late, say to very long-running shows with several seasons, often during the 7th.

I'm rather bitter about him never getting the recognition he deserves when it comes to the Emmys OR the Golden Globes, so I'm not holding my breath. Even IF he gets a nomination it's very likely he won't get the award. Wouldn't be the first time. (Does my frustration show TOO much?)

Things may have moved on a bit, but it's still a big ask to give anything other than a technical award to kiddies fayre like a sci-fi or fantasy show.

Oh yeah, things are changing, but its still easy to spot the stuff made for and receiving consideration, and the attitudes of the Scorsese's, academies and panels are pretty clear.

Yup. I'm pretty sure they've been ignoring Sir Patrick for many, many years because he starred "in that sci-fi show" (he was nominated several times for both Emmys and Golden Globes for stuff that had nothing to do with sci-fi). I can't see them giving him an award for RETURNING to that very franchise.

GoT was shut out of the Golden Globes this year.

    Handmaid's Tale sends ITS regards.

If the casting lives up to potential, perhaps an ensemble nod? And I imagine Stewart will eventually get a rightly deserved sentimental career achievement award

I think a big difference though is Stewarts age. Frankly they are running out of time to honor him and I think this might be the year. It might basically a lifetime achievement win. I think also he stands a better chance at the Golden Globes because of the Foreign Press voters. I am not even sure who votes for the emmys.

GoT only won a single Globe in its entire run, Supporting Actor for Peter Dinklage in season 1. The Globes mostly rejected the show from the start. While the Emmys may have become more accepting of genre shows, the Globes still aren't.

I'm a huge fan of Sir Pat, but to be very honest I don't see his performance in Picard as award worthy (at least in the pilot). It would be great to see him get a lifetime achievement award at the Emmy's, though.

When you think of his exemplary work in TV and film over the decades, a career/lifetime award feels justified. Some recipients I do feel 'you're ok, but just stayed round long enough to pick this one up'. Stewart I feel would be a worthy winner.

He has several awards like that already but, of course, nothing as "glamorous" as an Emmy or Golden Globe career/lifetime achievement award. Considering their apparent attitude towards him and his work, however... not really holding my breath for that kind of award for him either although I would be the first to cheer if it was announced, of course. ;)

Emmys shmemmys. Give Picard a Hugo. That’s the only award that counts.

Isn't that a literary award? (Or I'm missing something... I'm not well-versed in sci-fi awards.)

They award them for TV shows as well. TNG got two, one for The Inner Light and another for All Good Things

Oooh, in that case I'm definitely all for it! He deserves ALL the awards. (I'm probably slightly biased.)

I think the many Vulcan greetings of female astronauts on the ISS is a much bigger achievement by Star Trek, that can't be matched by the small statues of Hollywood awards.
