You know the reason why we never see toilets in Trek is I think we got to assume that that come in and out of the wall. Kind of like those old beds in hotels you fold back up into the wall? Am I wrong but wouldn't this be a must have option that everyone want for their home when they find away to do it?

Where the toilet goes seems kind of simple. If you can have enough room for closets or heating units then surely this can happen as well. This would give people more room in the bathroom. It would look and I assume smell nicer. This feels like the next big leap. We went from outhouses to bathrooms to now this.

This is something that should be added to your retractable toilette.... Maybe the toilett is part of the captain's chair!

Didn't they have that on Firefly? Or am I not remembering correctly?

If I really have to go there's no way I'm waiting for the toilet to emerge from the wall! Your idea is terrible.

It's only terrible if the toilet gets jammed coming in and of the wall. As for the wait to way to cut down time is to simple install a app on your phone that you push that will activate the Wi-Fi computer stuff that makes it come out. Time you get their is will already be out and in position for use.

You have given me way too much to think about when I want to get my ass to the toilet. I don't want to have to command my toilet get into position for me, I want it to BE in position and also not be connected to my phone so google can make me look at ads for metaucil for a week every time I order my toilet around over wifi.

But it will be like living in the future! Soon the shower and bathtub can also be hidden away as well.

Not so much retractable, but one that could be titled or pushed up into the wall, and pulled down when needed.

So pretty sure there was no water in when it was tilted back into the wall. I hope.

Something about the design of the Firefly class ships that I never got was how the passenger cabins were way at the back of the ship, inside that round engine bulb on the end which shot out plasma, and situated right under the main engine.

I would imagine that area would have a LOT of radiation...these cabin would have to be heavely shielded.

@Monkey Klaus what exactly will you be doing with the space the retractable toilet provides? It's not like you can put anything there because you will need to summon your toilet regularly.

No need for toilets. Just beam out the crap from the body straight into space.

  12. it doesnt make any sense... a retractable bathtub, toilets, etc.. would need large hollow walls.

Not so much what you can add but just to make the space feel a little less cluttered. Open spaces is especially nice for fat people like me. Also tall people as well if you have everything retracted except for the thing you need at that moment. Of course I didn't even think that about the possibility that it retracts into the floor instead of the wall. That offers other options.

How about if it ascends into the ceiling

Also I think it needs to dramatically drop down or rise up with triumphant music. The music should be mandatory if you want this kind of toilet installed.

It's never get to have a toilet with toilet water dangling over ones head. Everything from death,to being grossed out is possible. Plus if it breaks and falls your going to not just have your toilet smashed to pieces but it's going to damage your floor as well.

If we're going with raising ones, maybe include user settings per person for height as well as personal music settings too:lol:.

(Still, it's better than the tilted toilet idea)

I think toilets should be kept simple. More moving parts means more possible points of failure.
