That's fantastic! :luvlove: I'm loving the 23rd century aesthetic and LCARS, and I especially love your choice of station design, as it's neither the Spacedock or Regula-I rehash.

    Very nice!
Are you going to further flesh out Fontana station 3d model? or leave it as low poly hologram?

as for the "Bridge" everything looks nice, how about a "Commanders Nook" that is opposite of the viewscreen/doors? so a small "room" notched out with a console for the comander of the station, Ala Babylon 5?

Nice! It feels like a very functional command deck, and I like where you're going with the hologram. I agree about maybe having somewhere specifically for the CO to stand, since the screens are redundant. Alternatively, one of those could be a window into the CO's office. If you don't want to model one, it could be tinted enough to obscue the contents, sort of like the privacy mode we saw on the Shenzhou ready room.

    Sent you an email, btw.

Mister Lurry, manager of K7, had a separate office. It was not clear whether it was adjacent to the operations center or away from it, but if you assume it was adjacent, then a door to the manager's office could be on the command deck al a Captain Picard's Ready Room off the bridge. Just a thought.

@137th Gebirg: Yeah, while I love the usual Trek aesthetic, one of things I loved of early TNG was its use of holographic consoles. Too bad those disappeared after a few episodes...

I'm not that much of a fan of multi-level bridges. I remember the last Star Trek: New Earth novel featured the USS Peleliu with a two leveled bridge, and I could never quite picture it in my head. Then again, it's just personal preference. :)

@The Librarian: Saw the email, will try to reply tomorrow mate. :)

When I first imagined this Ops set, I thought about adding a big door that would go directly to the CO's office on the aft wall, replacing one of the screens. But then I recalled how on DS9 they mentioned that the big door going to Sisko's office was such a Cardassian display of the command chain, and not something that you would see on a Federation starbase, so I abandoned the idea, with the logic that somewhere on the same deck there would be an office for the CO.

Still, @The Librarian raised a great idea, so I decided to replace the aft screen with a window looking into the CO's office, and also to model said office. What have I gotten myself into? :p I've been toying with the idea of modeling a planetside office for a while, with flags and all that, so i guess that idea is now merged with the station.

The walls are still pretty bare, and I guess I'll have to design a TUC era desktop monitor, as I think we never saw one. Suggestions are more than welcome regarding what to add to the office. :)

Nice solution to incorporating the office without making it look like a throne room.

As far as designing the desktop monitor, we never really see one in the TOS movies. You catch brief glimpses of some kind of monitor built into Kirk's desk (briefly viewed in TMP and TWOK, this is the desk that was later used for Data's quarters on TNG), but not enough to know if this is supposed to be the successor to those small TV-looking monitors they had in TOS. I'd probably try to design something that's sleeker than the TOS design, but still bigger and "clunkier" than the laptop-style ones we saw in TNG, DS9, and VOY.

    Oh nice!
For office.. hmm.. pick a wall and have a bigish display, with stuff like which ships are currently docked, what ships are incoming and eta, just a general information thing that the comander can just look up to..
as for the desk, maybe a Padd on the desk, but for the monitor, something build in? not as bulky as the Tos version, some type of flat screen maybe.. on a mounting that can be moved around the desk.. or maybe a clear pane of glass or hologram?
Resource heavy.. but maybe a few plants? it being a starbase maybe some wood elements since its nearby??
    Replicator or food slot?
Or maybe the whole desk is the display? an "interactive Desk"??
something like the doctors office, some plaques of comendations, commands etc...

Thanks for the suggestions @santa biggles and @valkyrie013! :)

Okey, as mentioned before I kept working on the Nimitz battle bridge and today all the renders are done. I've also went back to the main bridge and did some red alert renders, so those are the first two pics:

@valkyrie013: Believe it or not they will be coming in early 2020. ;)

More work on Fontana Station, and specifically the office (Ops is done really, other than the LCARS needing updating to showcase the station on several screens).
I decided to go with glossy black for the desk, inspired by some Starfleet Academy furniture. The screen design on the wall is likewise based on that game. Right next to it, I've placed some storage compartments (probably where the CO keeps the Saurian Brandy).
There's also a modified version of the TNG transporter room circuitry access unit next to the door, with a small plant on top. I'll probably add some diplomas or similar stuff on the wall above, based on those seen on board Excelsior in 'Flashback'.
Finally, I've added a small model of the station on top of the desk. I had it already, so why not use it again? :p I do plan on making that model freely available for download on SketchFab once I finish this, as I won't be expanding on it but perhaps it might inspire others to do a proper exterior model of the station. It is a canon design that never got much love after all.

I tend to not like the dimly lit sets that much, but those red-alert shots of the bridge look really nice!

I've had a bridge design in mind for awhile that has a see-through quality like you have with that CO office with the window. I like it when sets are shown to be connected.

As far as multi-level bridges. It might make sense to have sort of secondary stations on a mezzanine level above the key bridge stations, sort of like the second level of Voyager's engineering set, and have a small open lift as well, like TMP/TNG/VOY's engineering.

As far as what to put in that office, I'd suggest looking at how the quarters for Kirk, Spock, and Sulu were dressed in TUC, or look to set designs from s1 of TNG as well as the office of Captain Louvois in Measure of a Man.

As for a desk monitor, you could always take the desk you have, and add a similar display as what is built into Crusher's sickbay desk. Crusher's desk, was seen throughout TNG and DS9 in various quarters and offices, sometimes the display had graphics built into it. It would be a small display, but would still work here.

Added more stuff to the office. I've finished the screen, and I went with screencaps of DC Fontana written episodes for the opposite wall (from 'Yesteryear' and Friday's Child'). For the monitor, I initially wanted to go with something stuck behind the desk glass, similar to how these were on TVH, but I didn't like the end result very much. I ended up settling on a modified version of the sunken monitor seen on the TUC's transporter room console, among some others. This version is more sunken on the desk, and at a less pronounced angle. I think it works.

Also, I had the idea of using the biobed monitors from TMP as overhead displays for the center of Ops. I wanted to add something like this from the very beggining (inspired on Galactica's CIC), but I only just now realized how to do it in a way that fits in with the style and being a realistic reuse that might have happened.

I believe I'll call this one done, unless I'm missing something. :)
