When we did if for STC it took about 6-9 months from my recollection. It took a lot of work which is why I'm sure LFIM has not done it.

"Computer, reset timer called "30 days till filming" from 30 days to 240 days and restart! "

"Computer, create a new timer called "270 days till 501c3 status", with a reminder to research progress at 180 days. Initiate and start countdown!"

Someone should explain to LFIM that Black Friday sales are for stuff people actually want.

I actually meant to share this sooner. On Friday, I checked the usual websites I use when researching charities, and there is no Ares Studios registered in Georgia. I went a step further and checked the Georgia Secretary of State's website, and they are not showing Ares Studios registered as a charity. I also searched for any businesses listed under just the name Ares that are registered with them, and they are not related to any studio or filmmaking from what I could tell. Who they are a registered charity with is a very good question.

Even a lawyer in training pants would know better then to imply they were operating under a 501 or as a charity to collect donations when they weren't.

They should, at the very least, be registered with one of the local Chambers of Commerce, maybe in Atlanta. There may be a tax-exempt category filing in there along with it.

It also requires accurate accounting of finances, which is probably the last thing Peters wants.

Today we have an all new Paramount/CBS once again combined into Viacom. We should consider that everything is in play.

Well, ten years from now when the short is "Still coming" and he needs another million dollars to ensure it's finished, he'll have over ten years of merchandize sales and Con money. Who knows, by then he may be milking the shit out of a Star Wars short that -- like nuclear fusion -- is always just around the corner, but never arrives.

Now that they've finished the big stuff, they may be able to swat some pesky mosquitoes that have been buzzing around. Although, "swat" might not be the right word. "Nuke" might be a better description. We need a "popcorn" smiley.

No actually, I wouldn't think they'd do anything even remotely ethical at this point...
