Maybe he is. However, the show is called “The Flash” not “The Elongated Man”, so a quick two line piece of dialogue about what went on at ARGUS will be sufficient.

Except tomorrow's episode is the last one pre-Crisis and we know from publicity photos that Ralph is up and about in Crisis. Putting Ralph on the DL is probably just a logistical move; they need to wrap up the current storyline and lead into Crisis in tomorrow's episode, and maybe sidelining Ralph for the duration lets them focus more on the characters they need to focus on, as well as accommodating Sawyer's Crisis shooting schedule as I said before.

True. But kinda a cop out. I know it’s all fiction and Barry/Grant’s the star.

I'm glad that the Bloodwork storyline has wrapped. What a slog to get through! My second least favorite arrowverse villain, behind only thehorrible Diaz from Arrow, and the only reason Diaz eclipsed Bloodwork was because they held onto his boring character for way too long. He is the reason I stopped watching Arrow.

I agree with you about both, which is disappointing since I had high hopes for Ramamurthy. Funny enough, Arrow is killing it this season. It's substantially better than any of the other shows, and I had left it for dead a year ago.

I think much like Diaz this sadly isn't the last of Bloodwork.

I wonder if the writers listened to the fans about these season long storylines. Bloodwork isn't a villain that can carry a whole season. I don't even know if Flash has a villain in his rogues gallery that can do that. Hell, if there was a Batman show, I doubt even Joker could carry a full season.

Rotating villains is the way to go. The arc doesn't always have to end with jail, but one villain forces the writers to have too many fillers and drag things out.

Plus, from the in universe standpoint, it would seem a bit odd that every September, something bad happens and they resolve it neatly every May.

I am so curious about how COIE will end. I really hope there are permanent but good changes.

I hope this is the last mega-crossover they do, because it's hard to keep a show's storylines strong on their own terms when you have to devote so much time and attention to setting up the big crossover event. (Sort of like how Star Trek: TNG's final season and Generations were both weaker than they could've been because the producers were trying to juggle them both at once.) The Bloodwork thing just felt like marking time until Crisis happened.

The climactic threat was pretty silly. If that tiny drop of Bloodwork's goo were hit by the super-high-energy particle stream of the accelerator, it wouldn't have been dispersed across the city, it would've just been vaporized. Although even as I wrote that, I remembered that the goo was dark matter-infused, so I guess the idea would be that it would be a dark matter reaction similar to the initial explosion that created metahumans. Still, that was an important thing to say, and they never mentioned it. As described, it just didn't seem to make sense. And I don't see how adding a bit of ultraviolet to the accelerator's already intense energies would've made any real difference, let alone miraculously cured the whole city.

The scene with Cecile and Allegra getting out of the building didn't work very well either, since Cecile was supposed to be using her powers to track the zombies, but she never seemed to spot them until just half a second before she would've seen or heard them anyway, so what was the point? Also, if she was responding to fear, why did that let her sense the zombies themselves? They were beyond fear by that point. She would've been sensing the fear of their victims. So that didn't really make sense.

Also, even given that the Crisis begins on a certain day, what are the odds that it just happens to begin at the stroke of midnight at the start of that day in Central City's time zone? I mean, come on.

Anyway, now that we get the context for that Nash/Pariah preview scene, it looks even more certain that the guy behind the wall is the Anti-Monitor, and it looks like he's letting Nash believe he saved Nash's life when it was actually Allegra's UV wave.

    Yup.
Thing is, how many people will have missed this bit of context going in to Crisis? I'm not a regular viewer for Flash and just watched it this time because I knew episodes for Crisis are coming next. But they've aired that preview on almost every show (I don't know about BL, though? And of course, Legends hasn't started yet.). I'm interested to see how this is going to work.

    They didn't air the Wells scene on Black Lightning, since it's not one of the series that has an actual episode in the crossover, just a single guest character. Although it looks from the trailer like the next BL episode will be peripheral to the Crisis;
there's a red sky and a mention of parallel realities.

It was an OK finale, I'm glad we're done with the Bloodwork stuff. It definitely was one of the creepiest episodes they've ever done.
I have to agree with @Christopher about Bloodwork's plan, it seemed pretty silly that one drop of his blood stuff would be enough to cause a massive explosion and infect the whole city.

I'm glad that Bloodwork is defeated, at least for now. Hopefully, he won't come back. I do want to see another villain in the second half of the season. I think having a villain not be the main villain for an entire season is better. In fact, it might be more realistic to do more stand alone episodes with one episode villains, with maybe a super villain taking up a 4-5 episode arc during the season. Stargate SG-1 had a good formula where a season would have an overarching arc that would climax in a big two part episode featuring the main villain, but have a lot of stand alone episodes sprinkled throughout.

This episode did have the usual wonky pseudo-science. But it also had some good horror moments and some nice character moments as well. I think the show really shines when they focus on character moments like at the end of the episode. There is a real sense of family in the cast.

Bring on Crisis. I can't wait.

For me...i thought the IDEA of Bloodwork, and especially the motivation (to SAVE people) was excellent, as was the villain casting...but the execution felt like it was "horror movie on a budget" (like these "Lankybox" videos my daughter watches, ,like K-Pop on a budget).

Just having people run around in cheap black makeup acting scary like bootleg Wraith took away from what could have been drama,

ANd the Nash Wells scene, which was repeated on the other shows, was so.... blah. Not a great one to show everywhere... and makes me think what a horrible Wells this was. I really wish they did a far more SORROWFUL Wells that acted like someone who felt they WERE a Pariah. Instead of another cocky Wells focused on their own motivations, it would have been nice to have a sorrowful, regretful Wells who has become so unsure of their own intelligence... he could be phasing in and out of universes randomly, maybe shoring up why the Crisis is huge and real.

I don't watch Batwoman or Supergirl, but I went over to the CW App to see the end of both episodes to see how they tied into Crisis and other than the Monitor showing up to Jonn on Supergirl and the Wells scene, neither show had that big of an impact. I think it would have been much cooler if each show had it's own unique build to the crossover. I think Arrow actually covered this well with the Red Sky and Lyla revealing she was Harbinger. Flash could have used the Wells scene, but Supergirl and Batwoman should have used different scenes. Having not knowing the context, maybe Supergirl could have Hochlin-Superman show up and talk about what is happening and Batwoman could have Bruce Wayne come back into Batwoman's life or something. I have to think seeing the Wells thing on both Supergirl and Batwoman on Sunday Night before Flash even airs was confusing as heck, especially if someone might not watch Flash or Arrow.

Using the same crossover-preview scene on each show is something they started doing with Elseworlds last season for the benefit of viewers who don't watch every series, making sure that they all got to see the scene that most directly triggered the crossover. Although I don't think the Wells scene works as well for that as the Earth-90 teaser scene last year.

I know, but they could have used scenes that triggered the crossover that was in the context of the individual show. I mean Arrow was the perfect example. They were dealing with Lyla working with the monitor and then the end scene has Lyla revealing she is Harbinger and then we saw the red sky. That gets me very excited for the crossover. Flash was the same thing, since we know the context of what Wells is doing (Even though I don't know what or who Periah is). With Batwoman and Supergirl, they could have used different scenes that were unique but still triggered next week. It probably would have been better than just watching a scene out of context.

Also, I think what worked about the scene last year was it really didn't have to do with any of the 4 shows. This year, if you watched that scene but don't watch Flash (specifically), you might not know or understand what was going on.

Yeah, that was the thing that I found weird, that they used a scene that was the culmination of an arc that had been building for several episodes of The Flash. I think the Lex Luthor scene from Supergirl could have worked pretty well for a teaser scene.

But that's why they needed to put it on the other shows too -- so that people who don't watch The Flash would have at least some idea who this guy is and how his actions trigger what's to come. Wells/Pariah is evidently central to the story, so I guess they want everyone to get a look at him and have at least a hint of his backstory and motivation, as provided in that speech he gave. And maybe the seven symbols are important too, so viewers needed to be introduced to them as well. (I still think they may represent the seven "Paragons"/heroes that the Monitor believes can stop the Crisis. Although that's questionable if the guy behind that wall is the Anti-Monitor.)

It's the same reason they put the Monitor/Flash-90 scene at the end of every lead-in episode last season -- so everyone, not just Flash viewers, would get the same tease and the same introduction to these characters and concepts who'd be central to the crossover. The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl episodes all had their individual lead-ins too, but apparently this is the one scene the producers wanted everyone to see.

Maybe a mistake was waiting for the real COIE to introduce Anti-Monitor. Wells hasn't been made Pariah yet. Maybe we WILL see that sorrowful version. If he is true to the comics, he will be forced to witness countless worlds die while he moves to the next one.

I don't watch Batwoman either, but I do like your idea of each show doing something unique to build the crossover. That would have been very smart, but harder for Batwoman who has a universe of her own to build. Supergirl should have definitely been involved though.

Yeah...but they timed this one poorly. The Anti-Monitor was released waaaay earlier in the comics. That would have given Pariah time to see all these worlds die. The wiping away of worlds has already started. Having this Wells be sorrowful for a while, and continually seeing people die would have added a new type of character Tom Cavanaugh hasn't portrayed yet.

Well, this last episode basically closed up the arc, to make way for the Elseworlds crossover as well as Crisis. WOuld have been nice though if there was some montage or something to prep us for the Crisis
