So this is interesting. I was surprised to learn today that Black Lightning is going to air a new episode next Monday, smack in the middle of "Crisis." I wouldn't have thought that the CW would want to break up "Crisis" like that, by airing an episode during its run that isn't part of the crossover.

Well, it looks like that while the BL episode isn't part of the crossover proper, it's definitely tied in:

Note the red skies, and the parallel universe storyline, which is a concept Black Lightning has never even touched upon before. I'm guessing this episode will lead directly into Jefferson's appearance in the Flash installment of "Crisis" the following night.

That looks outstanding. I'm still quite interested in if Tom Welling will do anything significant.

    Hmm, okay.
So that confirms that both Argo and Earth-38 get destroyed, though at least the people of Earth-38 are evacuated. I still have to think they're going to reverse that somehow, because of all the Supergirl standing sets and such, not to mention, what about Mars? J'onn just sent his brother back to Mars to strive for peace -- would they do that and then destroy the planet a week later?

And it seems we've just gotten confirmation that Earth-1 Bruce Wayne looks like Kevin Conroy, since he and Kate seemed to recognize each other on sight -- unless that is the Earth-1 Bruce and we're finding out why he stopped being Batman. Although I get the impression it's part of an episode where the Supers and Batwoman are crossing the multiverse to recruit those seven heroes. Anyway, that sort of suggests we're unlikely to see Earth-1 Batman at any point, unless they can cast someone who looks uncannily like a younger Kevin Conroy.

My impression of that scene and the intent behind it is that this is the way the Arrowverse has chosen to introduce the Earth-1 Batman and that his disappearance had something to do with both the Multiverse and The Monitor, but we'll see.

I've been convinced that this crossover wasn't actually going to result in the combining of universes because I feel like it's completely unnecessary and creates massive narrative headaches for the Arrowverse's various creative teams going forward, but it looks as if my belief was wrong, and so what I'm now worried about is that the writers are going to struggle to actually maintain quality and ultimately end up wishing that they could undo what they've done.

I really that isn't the direction they go, it would just make things way to complicated to try to adjust everything to fit.

Considering how brief his filming was, I think we just saw 10% of his appearance. ;)

Seriously though based on that, "You are Clark Kent, right?" I'm half expecting a depowered/retired/otherwise unusable Clark.

None of the people from a non-Arrowverse show seem to have shot for more than a day, which isn't all that surprising. They'd have needed twice as many episodes to fit them all in properly.

I am super excited for this crossover. But it still fills like they have a lot to cram into a 5 hour crossover. I hope they pull it off.

I presume Superman-38 needs to ask that because this Clark is not an identical doppelganger and he's confirming his identity. Maybe this is the scene where they first figure out that their counterparts aren't always physical doubles. (Which would place it before the encounter with Kingdom Come Superman.)

I believe that it's been confirmed that Erica Durance's Lois Lane has a much bigger role in this than Tom Welling's Clark does.

I think what they mean is Erica is doing Lois/Alura double-duty.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Barry Allen played by both Grant Gustin and John Wesley Shipp? I don't watch the shows any more, so I have no idea if Supergirl's Clark has met both of them though.

I specified that what I believe has been confirmed is that Erica is in this for more than one episode specifically as Lois.

Implicitly, the Barry Allen of Earth-90 is the doppelganger of the Henry Allen of Earth-1 and the Jay Garrick of Earth-3, both also played by Shipp. Jay has a different name because he was adopted, and since Barry's full name in the comics is Bartholomew Henry Allen, it could be that Earth-1 Henry just used his middle name.

Of course, incorporating Earth-90 into the Arrowverse does implicitly incorporate non-identical doppelgangers of Iris West and Sam Scudder at the very least. But none of the Arrowverse leads have met a non-identical doppelganger yet, let alone of themselves. Or at least Superman hasn't.

The '90s Flash was named Barry Patrick Allen.

Yes. That was revealed as part of the subplot to the episode “Good Night, Central City” . Barry is under investigation largely because there is another “Barry P. Allen” in Central City with a horrible credit history. Whom Barry is mistakenly confused for, as an motivation for him to take dirty money.

I'm not a comic book reader, and maybe there is a little super hero fatigue I have sometimes, but I think CW might be the best network when it comes to hyping up events. Watching Flash this first half of the season, especially the last two episodes (Last week and tonight), I am excited as hell for Sunday, and I don't watch Batwoman or Supergirl. This feels like a big event, but I think more than anything, it feels like the Crossover CW has been building up to for years. It's almost like the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a way. You have these shows and it's a slow build and each Crossover has been an event (Avengers) type show/mini-series and now we are at Endgame. At first I kept thinking everyone is talking about the Crossover, but what about the stories for the individual shows. Well, the stories for Flash and Arrow has been Crisis, and now I can understand why.

Bring on Crisis on Infinite Earths. I'm so excited for this to get going.
