The more I thought about it, the more there was no way Chakotay would be with Seven [as she is] in her new “profession “ in ST: Picard.

Chakotay was known in Voyager as a peacemaker, someone who tried to see the good in each of people met, ... except Borg, what sometimes, put Voyager in danger because hey, all aliens and people aren't so pure, kind and generous they he would have hoped.

According to the ST: Picard's clip, it is clear that Seven is at war against some people I remind you that she rarely used - if not NEVER - a laser riffle or gun during the long journey so, it is quite shocking to see her firing in God mode against people, aliens or humans, we don't know yet, but she looks like very determined to do as much damage as possible on her way. I cannot imagine Chakotay the Bisounours agreeing with this kind of action.
So yes, you must be right Athena28, they must be separated.

I'm looking forward to seeing her fight (the woman is supposed to be a former soldier).

It's good to see her being who she is. :techman:

She grabbed a guy's throat in another episode.

She gets hardcore once in a while. In Scientific Method, she says "If you attempt to incapacitate me, I will kill her" and the lady says "I believe you"

The Borg aren't soldiers, they're drones. Mind-controlled slaves dominated by the will of the Collective.

The Borg Collective is pure democracy.

Any time any of them want to do anything, 80 trillion of them vote on it.

    MAJORITY RULES!

I really hated that they were put together.
Especially considering how Jeri has said multiple times through the years (I've been at two cons where she's been asked the question and responded as such) how she and Robert had asked how they were meant to play certain scenes when they suspected it was happening, were told no romance was planned for them outside of the holodeck and then had it dropped on them at the end. The very fact the actors had played it differently and then had to do a total u-turn on that definitely showed. They had chemistry, but it wasn't right and didn't feel it.

Part of the reason for that is that Braga wanted the Romance, but had left the show in season 7 to create Enterprise, and the new showrunner was not interested in the Romance.

Braga wrote Human Error, where Seven has moved on to practicing dating on the holodeck, she chooses Chakotay, and she desires to move on to the real thing. Braga came back to help write the finale and wanted to follow up on what he had started(and arguably, what he had been moving her towards during his 3 seasons as showrunner).

I never saw it as a problem, as she had already chosen him as her "logical and most compatible mate," and then fell in love with him.

When we get to the finale, a while has passed since the previous episode, and we get to learn that Seven has finally conquered her fears and initiated the romance. They are still in the very early stages of it in Endgame, and she's still following her "socializing and dating checklists."

Not sure that I put two and two together previously on this (remedial though it is), but it makes perfect sense regarding why some of the fanbase (well, let's be honest most of them) view the pairing as coming out of nowhere.

I am currently rewatching the series and I'm in mid-season 4, so I'll keep this in mind as I continue to rewatch. I'm hoping I pick up on some more subtle cues (there are several in various eps that one can see that are more or less "obvious" but I am on the lookout for more). I am sure there are more hiddein in there somewhere... esp knowing Brag's past (then, more current) with Ryan.

Well, there's that episode where she's conducting a study on Paris and B'elanna's relationship. And then there's the doctor giving her social lessons, then dating lessons, and then she continues them on her own. I don't know what you'll find in random episodes in between, but by human error, we see all her deep desires carried out in her holodeck fantasy. She wants to have her own quarters, have personal relationships, have a love life, etc. She lies to the doctor by calling it "research" as she feels ashamed, which the doctor picks up on.

Well, I was actually thinking more of the specific exchanges between Chak and 7, of which there are several that are subtle and maybe more that are less noticeable....

That was TV in the 90's for you ... the high point of every woman's life was crawling into bed with someone.

I dunno, apparently it was mine if I could have had Commander Chakotay. But you emphasis every, and you are correct, that wasn't the aim of every woman.

Maybe Danja meant fictional women on 90s TV were one dimensional objects waiting for a man to give their life meaning, with sex?

10 seasons of Friends doesn't disagree.

You are correct (I was being sarcastic. Note the roll eyes emoji.)

To say nothing of Ally McBeal and Sex and the City.

    Buffy was flipped?

Angel was the helpless damsel on Buffy.

Did you make it to the end of Ally McBeal?

A surprise 12 year old daughter showed up, and Ally waxes "I always thought that I was looking for a man, but turns out that all I was really searching for was you."
