    Spoilers regarding Aset

According to the mission files (according to a poster on reddit) she's a clone, so an Isis is still in a jar on earth

Setesh, Osiris and Isis (aka Aset) planned a coup against Ra, but it failed, with their symbiotes becoming imprisoned in the canopic jars later found by SG1 (presumably, as punishment). As a contingency plan, Aset had cloned herself, and then appeared before Ra. Moved by her technological advancements, he let her live as Aset, and invented the story of her resurrection to ensure his own power. However, she still plots on to defeat him...

Just watched the final episodes. Thought it turned out pretty well even if it was a bit cheesy and cheap.

    Also I'm glad...
it turns out this wasn't a retcon and the reason Catherine doesn't remember travelling through the Stargate is explained.

^How is it explained? I don't mind being spoiled.

Catherine and her father have their minds wiped of everything that happened and are left in a stupor. James helps them escape through the gate but is killed before he can make it back himself. The German soldier who was left behind is killed by a stray blast from a staff weapon that travels through the gate. No one else makes it back and Catherine and her father are left none the wiser. Not the most imaginative explanation but not sure how else they could have handled this.

Cathrine was also given a subconscious suggestion by Aset to keep working on the gate and to eventually some how defeat Ra

Also according to the mission file
At this point in History the Goa'uld were fighting the Asgard, Aset was surprised that Ra was back from that so soon

I wonder if this is meant to be Captain Mitchell, he is wearing a similar outfit from Continuum. They also recreated the Gate's box to how it looked in that movie.

With they made an effort to keep continuity with the series and the movie. Like when Catherine broke the bottom of he stone that had the symbols to head back to earth directly ties it to the 1994 when Jackson found the same stone the the botttom piece was broken off and he could not read the 7th symbol.

I wonder if this will cast some merit on doing another Stargate series, revealing that there really is a fan base out there just waiting for it.... something with full on production assets & cast.

I would really love to know the budget for Origins, based my production experience it only seems to be about 1 Million'ish .
    - There highest rated cast member is Conner Trinneer, so there casting budget is relatively low.
    - The VFX are pretty sub-par.
    - The sets are also pretty sub-par and easy to manufacture, there were also a lot of obvious green screen moments as well.

Looks like MGM did not want to sink a whole lot of money into it. Seems like a good gamble as it has done well overall.

Also, I'm not saying i did not like it overall, but if MGM sank a bit more money into it, that would have polished it up a bit more.

Edit, upon further thought, it would be at least 2 million, due to union labor and insurance that MGM would have to use.

It was $20/year but with all the new streaming stuff coming out like Disney+ and HBO MAx you need more then just one franchise to make a service work.

Yeah, i agree... though i wonder if they could do something with major services offering premium things... like STargate Origins being $1.50 added on Netflix (but unlimited views)...gotta be a better way to get stuff like that without spending THAT much money on it

the older star gate shows are now on Hulu

I do hope they find somebody willing to do a new series. Hulu of Disney+ are likeky the best bets.

I did notice their YT channel stopped putting up weekly episodes a while back, so this isn't unexpected.
That plus you have to imagine most of the hardcore fans that are likely the ones to pay for it, probably already own most of the content on DVD or Bluray.
And it's not like the show isn't constantly on TV still.

The Stargate Origins: Catherine movie is available to rent (for a buck) or buy (for eight bucks) on Amazon Prime. No DVD, though.

In the lap of squalor I assure you.
I put my Stargate videotapes on the curb 5 years ago, and I am about to give away Stargate DVD's very soon... Syndication wins this round.

Have we heard anything about an MGM streaming service (outside of Stargate Command)?
