News Animated "Secret Warriors" to hit big screen (Squirrel Girl, Ms. Marvel, more)

While I certainly enjoyed Secret Warriors, it was a little disappointing that, instead of the ensemble piece it appeared to be from previews, it instead proved to be more Kamala Khan and friends. Yes, she was an engaging, likeable character - I can see why she's so popular - but the approach did a disservice to the others, especially Squirrel Girl, who, as Christopher notes, had fairly drastic personality surgery to force conflict.

That dissonance of characterisation was a particular distraction to me since SG is the one Marvel character I genuinely love, as she was designed from the start to have fun with, and even cheerfully subvert, many of the tropes of the superhero genre that I'm leery of, something the North comics I've so far read embraced with skill and style and heart to spare.

Given the New Warriors live action series is seemingly lost in limbo, and there's little to no chance of an MCU appearance, being left with this can't help feeling a little frustrating. Now the North comics are coming to an end, I wonder where she'll go next. Is there even a future for her?

I'm not sure if it's available in Canada, but Marvel Rising is also on the free Disney Now website and app in the US. I haven't watched it yet, but I did see all of them up there when I was looking around on the site a week or two ago.

 

To clarify, does the listing in the Netherlands include Secret Warriors only, or any of the more recent episodes?

Both Initiation and Secret Warriors are on Disney+ in Canada. (Oddly, the six parts of Initiation have not been stitched together into a single episode, as was done on the Marvel HQ YouTube channel.)

Is there any word yet on whether or not the other episodes will be added to the service at some point in time?
