Fast voting thread means fast results, fast results mean... New Challenge! For this month, if you choose to accept this challenge, I want you all to dive into the darker sides of Trek. Regular Starfleet Intelligence, Section 31, Tal Shiar, Bajoran Intelligence, V'Shar... Show us how the major powers (or parts thereof) of the quadrants handle intelligence gathering. Ships, personnel, shady dealings... Everything and anything goes! As long as no one else finds out...
Final Art Entry after a complete redo and a fresh take on my idea... And phew.. *Wipes brow* close call.. Here she is!
^ I really like that! The Cardassian influence is very prominent. Always wondered if those Galor-class ships are housing a single warp nacelle in their tail. (By the way, they're called “Jem'Hadar”, are they not?) Do we still get a couple of hours before the contest closes? I'm still working on my entry.
Here's my extremely hastily slapped together (i.e. done just now in MSPaint while I was eating my tea) entry: I gave up on the bugs because they just looked like bugs (which, I suppose, is the point), and I couldn't get them to fit in my head-canon. Although, desperation is the only thing making this Type-9 shuttlecraft version of James Bond's submersible Lotus Esprit (aka "Wet Nellie", from The Spy Who Loved Me) fit (The original shuttle image is from the Star Trek Fact Files - via Memory Beta. I blanked out all the extraneous bits I didn't want, then crudely added grey and black lines to approximate the look of Wet Nellie)
I seem to recall that the front cover image for the Trek Lit character Elias Vaughn (Intelligence officer/ spy) was modelled on Sean Connery. So, as a younger man perhaps Vaughn would look a little like this... (Another quick-o, last minute entry from me).
